Forgotten Friday 38

Friday again already and time for something for Judith's Forgotten Friday challenge.  During my recent efforts to have a bit of a sort out of my stash I came across a box with a selection of stamped and/or digi stamp images some of which I'd coloured and some not so I decided to use one of the coloured ones for the challenge as I'd completely forgotten what was in the box - what am I like??  I thought these birds (a digi image from Pollycraft coloured with Copic pens)) would make a cute 'congratulations' card - background paper from my stash has had a border added with a fineline pen, a Martha Stewart punched border was added along with a couple of punched flowers. A friend had commented that she thought my cards had been a bit dark of late so I hope she likes this brighter one (you know who you are)!!

Forgotten Friday 2

This is the second week of Judith's Forgotten Friday idea and this week I have used paper piecing on the flowers (this is a technique I've not used for quite a while) and to do this I've used some background papers from a My Craft Studio CD.  I'm afraid I tend to do what I expect many of us do - buy the CDs, look at the images when they first arrive and 'oh and ah' over them, then put the CD away where it stays on the shelf unused for ages.  These papers are from Flowers and Faux Finishes and the image is a digi stamp from Pollycraft which I simply printed out onto the background papers and then cut out the flowers to piece onto the original which has been coloured with Copic pens. The tiny butterflies were an Xcut punch which has also been neglected recently.  Could this all be a sign that I may well have too much 'stuff' in my craft room???

Flash Those Freebies

It is time for the flash those freebies challenge part 2 using the special free digi stamp that was sent by the lovely people at Pollycraft to everyone who entered part 1 and which we had to keep under wraps until this week.  The instructions this time are to 'think green' using this image and I have chosen to colour the cute turtles in shades of green but have also introduced a little amount of pink for contrast.  The turtles have been decoupaged in three layers.  Background papers are from Colour Me Happy  by Funky Hand and the green flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts with punched and embossed leaves (Xcut punch) - sentiment produced on the computer and punched with Stampin Up punch. The bonus is that everyone who enters a card can claim a free digi stamp from the wide choice on their website.

Pollycraft Challenge 53

The Monday challenge at Pollycraft this week is to make a birthday card - very straightforward.  The digital image has been coloured with pencils onto a circle cut with Nestabilities; background papers are by K and Co from their Sparkly Sweet range and the dots and dashes were drawn using a fine black pen. Both the image and the sentiment (made on the computer) were put onto Nellies die cut fancy circles.  The flowers and leaves were punched using Xcut embossing punches and smaller punches were used to add some layers to the flowers which also have  pearls in the centres.

Pollycraft Freebies Challenge

What's this you say - two posts in one day and includes stamping this time (at least digi stamping) which I've coloured using pencils. The folks over at Pollycraft are asking us to 'flash our freebies' that is use one of their many free digi images to make something and they will send entrants another freebie in return which we have to keep secret awaiting further instructions.  If you pop over to have a look you can read the full instructions.
Background  papers are from My Minds Eye in a pad which came free with Cardmaking and papercraft magazine this month - a  very nice free gift I thought. Daisies were punched using two sizes of punch and the leaves are made using an X-cut embossing leaf punch; I added some lace and gems together with a computer sentiment popped onto  Stampin Up punched ovals.

Bah Humbug Challenge 18

The Bah Humbug challenge this week is to use punched borders - I don't have a seasonal border punch but I do have an Xcut snowflake punch which I've used with their border system to punch a border strip in gold mirri card. Incidentally using mirri card has reminded me that I should clean the glass on my scanner more often!! This border system has presumably now been discontinued along with their original punches because their new punches are now a different shape altogether and can't be used with the gadget which is so useful for spacing rows of punched motifs. The image is a clear stamp which was on offer from Pollycraft recently, coloured with Copics and glittered. Sentiment was done on the computer and punched with Stampin Up ovals. Background paper by Papermania from a couple of years ago.

Pollycraft Challenge 40

The weekly challenge at Pollycraft is to follow a sketch - I do enjoy the sketch type of challenge which isn't always the simple option it would appear to be!! I used one of their digital images coloured with Copic pens, background papers and pieces of card from my oddments box, some Cuttlebug embossing and Nestabilities label shape. A Stampin Up punch was used for the greeting and I made up a flower from various 'bits' - also added some card candy from Craftwork cards.

Pollycraft Challenge 36

Challenge 36 at Pollycraft is sparkle so this digi image was run through a Xyron machine after colouring with Copics and glittered with sparkly Glamour Dust glitter - then mounted on some holographic silver card. The silver ribbon is sparkly and the flowers are made up from purchased flowers, two Suffolk Puffs which I made from wide organza ribbon circles and tied together with silver thread and a couple of buttons from my box. Background paper is also from Pollycraft.

Cat For You

This cute image was a decoupage sheet downloaded from Pollycraft and I've added background paper from my oddments box around the edge of which I've drawn some faux stitching. I also added some stripey ribbon and tiny buttons from Papermania which have been threaded with matching embroidery cotton. Once the cutting out was done this was a quick and easy card to make.

Distress

The theme for Pollycraft challenge 35 is 'distress' so I've used one of their cute patchwork elephants and popped him (or is it her) into some distressed surroundings. Background paper was found amongst my oddments and had some faux stitching stamped around the edges. The torn card also an oddment was Cuttlebug embossed and all edges were distressed with - you've guesed it - Distress ink pad. I added a few distressed funky flowers from Polkadoodles with a couple of offcuts from a flourish which I couldn't bear to throw out. I know all these bits and pieces which I save will be used - eventually!!

A Baby Boy

It seems ages since I've made a baby card and I've used a decoupage sheet recently downloaded from Pollycraft for this one. Once the decoupage was cut out this was quite a quick and easy card to make with just the addition of some toning background paper, ribbon and a sentiment.

Double Up

The Monday challenge at Pollycraft was called 'double up' - use two of their digi images together. I combined these two images using My Craft Studio and they have been coloured using Copic pens. Background papers are again using up oddments so no idea now of their source. Swirls are from a Cuttlebug die and a Fiskars punch has also been used - computer generated sentiment mounted on a Stampin Up oval punched piece of matching card. The flower was built from various pieces in my flower collection.

Follow The Leader

The Friday freebie digi stamp at Pollycraft was a lovely one to make us think of Spring so I've made a bright card using it with some papers and other bits from my stash. Image was coloured with Copics.

Things with Wings

Challenge 33 at Pollycraft has this theme and as I don't have any of their digital images with wings I've added some small butterflies using a Stampin Up stamp so hope this will qualify. The image was coloured with Copics and the little pearls were coloured with the same pen to match.

Bluebirds

These bluebirds were a free download from Pollycraft and I thought they would make a cheerful get well card. Image was coloured with Copics, faux stitching was done with a fine line pen, greeting produced on the computer and punched with a Stampin Up punch. Border strip used a Fiskars threading water punch and I added gingham ribbon and some card candy to match.

Fire and Ice

The Monday challenge on Pollycraft is Fire and Ice (red and white) and I've used one of their digital images coloured with Copics. The edges of the white flower were coloured using the same pen and leaves were punched. Background paper is also from Pollycraft.
