|At Last!

I've been wanting to get this Tonic die for such a long time and it seems to have been 'out of stock' forever but at last I've found one - hooray.  Of course I just couldn't wait to use it and have made this card with some free background paper which was a magazine give-away, the die cut from Centura Pearl card and an image from a sheet of Hobby House designs.  I simply added a greeting and a few flowers stamped and punched from a leftover scrap of the backing paper with a few pearls scattered here and there.

Backing Paper - HOTP free with magazine
Trellis - Tonic die
Image - Hobby House Designs
Flowers - Stampin' Up stamp and punch
Leaves - Marianne die
Circular layers - Spellbinders dies
Sentiment - computer generated with Cuttlebug die layers

Lovely as a Tree

This title is of course the name of a stamp set from Stampin' Up and I've used one of the stamps for this card.  It was stamped twice and sections were cut out with a square die and popped onto punched 'postage stamp' shapes which were then laid over the original.  Scraps of card were used to cut out the framework strip and banners for the sentiment.   It occurred to me that this would probably fit in with the Pixie's Snippet Challenge so will enter it this week - it certainly has a few snippets included.

Wet Easter Sunday

Well the weather may have been abysmal yesterday but at least it was a good excuse to light the fire and sit in the warm to finish off a necklace which I'd started.  This is another one from Marcia DeCoster and the pendant section is worked in right-angle weave using seed beads, with 3mm pearls and fire-polished beads (these topaz fire-polished beads probably don't show here but they are on the sides of the shape which is quite dimensional). I rifled through my stash of larger beads to find matching ones for the 'dangle' and to string for the neck strap.  The pendant section is quite large and I think if I make another one I will reduce the size so that it isn't quite as long.

Wedding Card

The image on this card is from a Hobby House set, layered onto some grey card with a silver glitter layer.  Backing paper is from a wedding pad I've had for a while and I simply added a piece of lace and some white flowers with diamanté centres.

We've been having some beautiful weather but today is a real disappointment - it is so dark this morning with really grey skies so I reckon we are in for some rain before long.  Never mind it could be a good reason to stay in and maybe make a few more cards!
