Blog Candy Alert

Look out for some cute Penny Black blog candy at Passion for Crafts

Jolly Yacht

Another little watercolour effort to make us think of summer - I wish it would hurry up as I'm really fed up with this cold weather but at least the sun is trying to shine through the clouds this morning. Background paper is from K and Company.

Hawthorn and Bramble

There are two new characters in the Daisy and Dandelion series by Papermania - two cute hedgehogs called Hawthorn and Bramble. I'm not quite sure which one this is but he is certainly enjoying a rest in the summer sunshine (where has it gone??). The landscape stamp was part of the set and Bramble was cut out and added to add to the trees, background paper is from the same collection and the daisy border is also by Papermania.

Hydrangea

I was recently tempted to buy some clear stamps in the Henbury Lane collection by Papermania as they looked so pretty and delicate but was dismayed to find that the delicate flowers are almost solid polymer and it is proving very difficult to get a good result. I was thinking soft grey outline images delicately coloured with watercolour - no chance!! I tried various approaches and so far this is the best I could manage - I'm not really happy with the image but have made it into a card anyway as I didn't want the money spent to be entirely wasted. I think on balance I prefer rubber to polymer for stamps and maybe I will try not to be so easily led by the illustrations on the packets in future.
Background paper is from Papermania Rose Garden collection with some other bits and pieces from my oddments box. Image was finally stamped in pale grey Memento ink and coloured with Copics.

Birthday Blog Candy

There is some wonderful blog candy on offer at Passion for Crafts so why not have a go - you could be lucky!

Seascape

I had a little play with watercolours and produced this mini seascape which I've popped onto a card. Background paper is from my oddments box(es) and is by artylicious. The sentiment from Stampin Up has been stamped and cut out using some new Nellies dies which I just couldn't resist.

Bah Humbug Challenge 17

This week the Bah Humbug challenge is 'Christmas Food' and I was reminded by looking at the great DT cards that I have this stamp from Cuddly Buddly which I think fits the bill. The image was coloured using watercolour pencils, the holly (coloured with Copic) and the greeting are stamps by Polkadoodle cut out and layered with Pinflair gel glue. Papers are bits from my stash and from various sources.

Peyote Stitch Ear Rings

Well I seem to be on a roll at the moment with the beadwork - the weather has turned very cold again so it is good to sit comfortably by the fire with my beads on a lap tray. However the cold weather doesn't seem to have stopped the grass from growing at a rate of knots so I'm afraid mowing two lawns will have to be a priority before too long.

Fireman George

I know there are lots of brave fire fighters out there and I love this digi image from Charmed Cards and Crafts. I thought it would be a change from football for a man's card and I do know of a couple of families with firemen who must have birthdays some time during the year. Background paper is from Papermania and I used nestabilities labels and sentiment punched with a Stampin Up punch.
