Bah Humbug Challenge 19

The challenge at Bah Humbug this week is 'ribbons'. For this card I've used an image from Joanna Sheen's Messy Rabbit Christmas CD. The background paper is from the same CD with some scraps from my box and I've also used some snowflakes which were the left overs from last week's punched border (X Cut punch) and a couple of odd peel-off holly leaves. The ribbon element was achieved by punching a row of holes in a piece of green card with the Bind It All, winding red and green ribbons through and tying together at the ends.

Anniversary Champagne

This was another anniversary card which I made to be different from the bear one (the lady chose the one with bears as her daughter happens to be keen on them). This was made using images from My craft Studio. I changed the size of the background image, printed it out and then stamped the poem (Inca Stamp). I made a matching border from the image and then added the text in MCS, also the champagne glasses were printed after changing the colour slightly to match, cut out and layered on top of the background.

Anniversary Bears

I was asked to make a Wedding Anniversary card recently and not quite knowing what the recipient might like I made a couple in different styles. This decoupage one uses a downloaded design from Cuddly Buddly showing a happy bear couple celebrating. The daisy background paper is from Papermania and just happens to match the daisies on the balloon in the image - how lucky was that!! I added a computer sentiment and some punched daisies.

Bluetit

This bluetit stamp was another one in the Papermania Henbury Lane collection with which I was rather disappointed because so much of the polymer is solid but I have managed at least to make this look like a bluetit (I hope). I have since tried one or two of the stamps with small chalk ink pads direct to the image and also stamping with Versamark and then applying pastel chalks with mixed results I must say because I find it difficult to see where I have applied ink to the clear polymer or if I have missed bits!! Background paper is from their Rose Garden collection and I've added matching ribbon and some flowers and leaves with a stamped sentiment from Stampin Up.

Notelets

This is one of six notelets I made to pop into a matching gift box - they were a non standard size so I also made little envelopes for them. The backgrounds were made by stamping with En Francais text stamp by Stampin Up, the butterfly is from their Touch of Nature set stamped with Perfect Plum and cut out. Sentiment made on the computer and punched with SU punch.

Lovebirds

Today's card is an anniversary one made for friends of mine - I know they have received it so it is safe to post. I used background paper from a pad which has lost its cover so not sure where it came from (I'm always doing this!!); the new bird and leaf punch from stampin Up was used with SU card - chocolate chip, blush blossom and close to cocoa which luckily went well with the background. The flower has been spritzed with Glimmer Mist, the heart was a Sizzix die, photo corners were Quickcutz. Matching ribbon and a Spellbinders tab complete this card.

Bah Humbug Challenge 18

The Bah Humbug challenge this week is to use punched borders - I don't have a seasonal border punch but I do have an Xcut snowflake punch which I've used with their border system to punch a border strip in gold mirri card. Incidentally using mirri card has reminded me that I should clean the glass on my scanner more often!! This border system has presumably now been discontinued along with their original punches because their new punches are now a different shape altogether and can't be used with the gadget which is so useful for spacing rows of punched motifs. The image is a clear stamp which was on offer from Pollycraft recently, coloured with Copics and glittered. Sentiment was done on the computer and punched with Stampin Up ovals. Background paper by Papermania from a couple of years ago.
