Going Digital is the challenge on Stamping for the Weekend and this cute dragon pirate is from a set of digi stamps which came as a freebie from Dustin Pike who has lots of digi stamps on offer.
I was asked by a friend to make a birthday card for her sister who collects things related to strawberries so I used the free stamp which came with Craft Stamper a while ago for the cut out images and also made two shrink plastic ones as well. Colouring was done with Sakura glitter pens. I do hope my friend thinks it is suitable!
Issue 2 of the Next Level arrived this week and there was a tutorial on making a ribbon border effect - this was also the challenge to make something using this technique. In the tutorial a single slot punch was used to make the holes for threading the ribbon but I used a Fiskars slot punch which has a double hole effect which is slightly different. The Hobby Art image was coloured using watercolour pencils and a water brush.
Penny Black challenge 52 is to use flowers this week. On my card the cut out flowers were stamped, gold embossed and coloured with H2Os. The background is a direct to paper technique using fluid chalk inks and the faux brads and sentiment are from Craftwork Cards.
Challenge number 4 on the Allsorts blog was to make a card in pink and white this week. I used an Elusive Images poppy stamp with Adirondack dye ink in cranberry which was brushed out on the flower using a water brush. Nestabilities were used for the matting and greeting.
Just Magnolia challenge 8 was a sketch by Rach and here is my version. Image was coloured with Copics and I made some distressed flowers from scraps of patterned paper and sprayed with Glimmer Mist - yet another way to use up some of my huge collection of scraps!
Daisy and Dandelion challenge 13 is to use a sketch and to work in black and white. Once I had decided what to do this was quite quick to do with very little colouring in needed for the image.
