More Daisies

I have a card to share today with more daisies but these are quite different ones using a stamp and die set which I think is now retired.  These flowers are double stamped, first the outline and then the infill with a pen used to colour the centres.  They were then die cut and arranged onto a stitched, scalloped rectangle which is part of the same set..  Some toning DSP has been used as a background and the sentiment was computer generated to fit onto the pretty label (also part of the same stamp/die set) - I printed a sheet of them so that they could be die cut as required.  A scattering of glitzy gems and that's another card to go into the box.

Allsorts Challenge #736

The theme for the current Allsorts challenge is **embossing folders** or of course it can be the usual anything goes.  I decided to go for an embossed background for the daisies on this card and  have used a very old Cuttlebug embossing folder which hasn't seen the light of day for a while.  I find it good to occasionally have a look through my collections of folders just to remind myself of what I could possibly use for a particular project. This works also for stamps or dies etc and often the idea for a card design springs from picking out something which hasn't been used for a while. In this case I felt that the geometric nature of the embossing contrasted nicely with the flowing lines  of the daisies and leaves. The scattering of tiny butterflies were the 'waste' from a border die - just couldn't resist saving  them in a little sealed bag 😉😉

Christmas in July

It is a Christmas theme this time in the Snippets Playground and with fabulous items being offered as the prize.  The lucky winner will at least have them in plenty of time to start on making cards for this year which is great, even if it does seem odd to be making wintry cards when the sun is shining.  Apart from the card blank, everything else used on my card came from my snippet collection. I trimmed a large snippet to fit and then used some red and white as background, running the white layer through a 'snow' embossing folder.  Next it was into some of my much smaller snippets to die cut all the elements - silver for the star, green for the trees and the two tree stumps and characters were cut from white and then coloured using Distress pens and a red alcohol pen.  I'm afraid I got a bit ahead of myself in tidying up my desk and swept the tiny left over snippets into the bin before I remembered to take a pic - sorry.  They really were too tiny to keep anyway.

Background paper - snippet left over from a 12" sheet of Stampin' Up (retired)
Red layer - Distressed edge die set from Daisy Mae
White layer - embossing folder from Creative Expressions (no longer available)
Dies from Gummiapan, Stampin Up and Crafter's Companion

Sewing Room

I was inspired by seeing a lovely sewing room card made by the talented Lesley HERE so no prizes for guessing that I felt I needed just a few more dies to add to my collection ... and this after I'd decided NOT to add any more 🤣🤣.  No doubt you've all been there.  My card is very similar to Lesley's one but with a few variations - difficult to think of another way of building up the scene with these particular dies but I'm working on it.  Thanks very much for the inspiration anyway 😀.

Most of my die cuts were cut from cream card and coloured using Distress pens but the fabric bolts and rolls also had a layer of patterned paper added instead of being coloured.

Dies used - from Gummiapan
Sentiment and faux stitching - stamp set which came from a magazine give away years ago
