Bah Humbug Challenge 32

The challenge at Bah Humbug this week is white on white so I've gone down the die cutting/embossing route.
The corners are a Marianne die and the wording is part of a Crafts Too embossing folder which has several seasonal phrases but I thought this one was appropriate to the challenge. This piece and the corners have been sprayed with marshmallow Glimmer Mist which is very subtle so doesn't show up too well on the scan.  The piece behind the wording was cut using a Sizzix die and embossed with a Cuttlebug snowflake die but was not sprayed.  There are other ideas for this theme on their blog so do go and take a look.

Friday Again

Well where did that week go?? I'm afraid it sort of escaped me in the muggy heat we've been having - thankfully it rained quite a bit yesterday and it is a little cooler now thank goodness.  Friday is usually the day for forgotten stash and I have a card made with some two-step floral stamps from Stampin Up which have been lying idle on the shelf for a while. Background paper is from SU and I also cut a strip with a decorative punch from EK Success using the reverse of the paper.  The roses were stamped in two colours, cut out and arranged onto a die cut circle which has had matching pearls added.. A computer generated greeting, ribbon and corners complete this get well card. Apologies for my lack of blogging this week.

Make My Monday challenge 9

The theme for this month at Make My Monday is 'things with wings' and specifically this week either butterflies or dragonflies. I've chosen some backing paper and stamps by Chocolate Baroque then simply added a flight of butterflies using a Sizzix embosslits die (Stampin Up) - a simple card but they have wings and they are butterflies!!

Home Sweet Home

I have to confess I just couldn't resist this set of stamps from Chocolate Baroque and this is just one of the images on the plate of Clarice Cliff type cottages.  Image was stamped onto 160gsm sketch book cartridge paper and coloured using Polychromos pencils, then cut out with a Nestability circle and brushed with some dye ink for the sky.  Background paper is from CB Essence of Nature CD and the 'art deco' sunrays were made using a Tim Holtz embossing folder, sponged with Distress ink.  The word is from the stamp set also and is on a Stampin-up punched label .In reality the colours relate to each other better than they appear on the scan - why do scanners sometimes change colours??  No doubt there is a technical reason!!.

Bah Humbug Challenge 30

Week 30 at Bah Humbug which means I have at least that many cards ready for this year - thanks girls for the ongoing ideas and inspirations. The plan this week is to use lace in some form and I immediately thought of Joanna Sheen's Victorian Christmas CD and actually couldn'f find an image which included any lace but I selected a vintagey (is that a word?) one and matching background paper then added some punched lace instead using a Martha Stewart punch.  I added a die cut corner and poinsettia using Marianne dies and that's it - a card with lace.
