Wellington

Having watched some of a Docrafts presentation on TV while eating my lunch today I was reminded that I already have the CD featuring Wellington which they are giving away.  What I also realised is that I'd not visited it for some time so this afternoon I've had a quick go at designing a card using the programme to produce this hybrid card by isolating some of the elements to cut out and layer up in the conventional way. Now it has been scanned it does look rather pink although I had thought of it as a male design - not so pink in reality.  I hope you all have a good weekend and that the weather will pick up again for everyone.

Child's Play...

This is the theme at Make My Monday this week where they would like to see either a card suitable for sending to a child or a new baby card.  I've opted to use a stamp from Joanna Sheen to make a baby boy card.  Image coloured with Polychromos pencils, cut out with Spellbinder dies and layered up with a piece of checked background paper. The 'ric-rac' style strips were cut using  a Spellbinders border die.

Hydrangea - Again!

We are still following the sketch this month at House of Cards and this week the style is CLASSIC and ELEGANT.  I've used my favourite hydrangea stamp (well one of them anyway) and this time stamped and embossed in white on white, coloured with distress marker pens. The actual layout was fairly straightforward following the sketch but it took me a bit of time to sort out toning pieces of card and paper from my scraps boxes which don't seem to have diminished much despite my efforts to use them up.
