I know how popular House Mouse designs are and today I'd like to share a card made with this cute image of the mouse enjoying a yummy blueberry pie. Image was printed onto Centura Pearl card and the border strips were made using a Sizzix (Stampin' Up) edgelits die and matching embossing folder. Greeting from the computer and cut with SU punches.
I hope the weekend weather is good for everyone but I'm not holding out much hope because the forecast doesn't sound too promising - never mind it could be an excuse to stay indoors and craft rather than tackle the garden chores.

Make My Monday Purple challenge
The challenge on Make My Monday this week is to use just the colour purple with a touch of a neutral - no other colours to be included. I decided to have a dabble with Docrafts digital Designer to see what I could come up with and this is the result I added faux inked edges and some cut out stencil effects within the programme. Do take a look at the purple offerings from their design team - lots of inspiration there.

Poppy Brooch
Last year I purchased the pattern to make a poppy brooch from a lady called Pam Kirk who developed this design and sells the pattern, donating the money to the Royal British Legion. I started this, fully intending to make it in time to wear in November but needless to say this didn't happen and once there was no pressure to get on with it I'm afraid I shelved the project at the point where all the separate petals had to be assembled and the general finishing off done. I came across it this morning when I was looking for something else and decided that I really would get it finished and am pleased to say it is done well in advance of this November. I will have to be careful not to put it away in too safe a place though or it could disappear again!! The original design was for a red poppy but I much prefer to wear the alternative white version for peace.
Do take a look at Pam's website where you can find details of how to order the pattern and I see there are pictures of the flower in many other colours too. So far she has raised £17,000 for the British Legion which is brilliant.

Dance in the Rain
While having a bit of a sort out of my working space I gathered together a selection of bits and pieces, experiments with gelli plate, odd bits of stamped images and of course the usual scraps of paper and card so before consigning them to the 'bits boxes' I thought I'd make a couple of cards using some of them. This one is quite appropriate for the 'summer' weather we are having today - grey and wet at the moment!! Background is one of the gelli plate experiments, over-inked with Distress inks and then stamped using the lovely water droplets stamp from Designs by Ryn. The words were produced on the computer and cut out using a Sizzix framelits set (Stampin' Up). I didn't think I wanted to cover up any more of the background so left the card fairly simple. Off now to complete the sorting out so that I have space in which to work and who knows I may find some more treasures to use on something else.
