The challenge this week at Addicted to Stamps and More is for a CAS (clean and simple) card with lots of white space and minimum embellishment and this is my second attempt at achieving a result without any unwanted 'splodges' or fingermarks!! The stamp is from Penny Black coloured using Flexmarkers, Promarkers and a touch of Copic. The sentiment is from a lovely set of butterfly stamps by Clearly Besotted and yes I have resisted the temptation to load this card with butterflies - so far anyway...LOL !! However I couldn't resist stamping the image twice, cutting out the daisies and layering for some dimension.

Birthday Card
From time to time I get unusual requests for cards and this was certainly a new one for me. It is for a young lady who is reluctant to leave her 'teens' behind hence the sentiment - she wants to be TWENTEEN rather than twenty!! The stamp is from Papermania. coloured with pencils, backing paper is from Funky Hand and a Crafts Too embossing folder has been used. The sentiment was of course produced on the computer and cut out using Spellbinder dies. I hope it fits the bill - handbags and shoes - should do it!!

Scraps
My quest to use up scraps is ongoing and I'm still trying to reach for the bits boxes every time I make something although sometime, particularly for challenges, I have to break into new pieces of card or paper which of course makes more scraps! This card was made entirely from oddments of Stampin' Up papers and bits of plain card for the die cut ornate corners (Marianne die). I was forced into a bit of tidying yesterday to find enough space to work on my desk which made realise what I already know really - that I do not need to buy any more crafty goodies!! I wonder how long it will be before I hit the 'buy now' button again or visit my local craft shop.

Make My Monday Challenge
The challenge at Make My Monday this week is still on the French theme and this time they are looking for FRENCH VINTAGE which I must say needed a bit of thought to come up with something suitable but I think I got there eventually. Background paper is from Tim Holtz vintage shabby collection and fortunately there is French text on some of the sheets. Image is a stamp from Crafty Individuals, a Sizzix top note die was embossed with Creative Expressions floral embossing folder, swirls were a Marianne die and the flowers and piece of lace from my stash. I typed a few french words on the computer and cut them up to make the little 'tags' - spellcheck didn't like these!! I had a lovely inky day yesterday which, considering the relentless rain, was a pleasant way of spending a miserable dark day - now I have to tidy up a bit so that I have space on my desk to work on some more ideas for using up the stash.
I see that the talented Hels Sheridan is on TV later with some wonderful new products so I've set it to record and must try hard not to be too tempted into adding to my stash!!

St Luke's Charity Challenge
This month the challenge on the St Luke's Charity blog is to produce a simple Christmas card with lots of white space - those who know me will realise I don't normally go for minimalist but here it is. I stamped this Michael Powell image (Papermania), coloured it with Flex markers and Copic pens, popped it onto a textured white card and added a stamped greeting.- all of which I managed without any grubby marks on the white space - I must be improving!! There are some great examples from their design team if you take a look at the blog.
