I do rather like designs based on typography and for this card I've made use of a stamp which came as part of a magazine giveaway and an embossing folder which I've had for a while. The panel was a piece of dark green card embossed using a 3D embossing folder, lightly brushed with some gilding wax and mounted onto a piece of gold card. The typewriter and sentiment were stamped onto a piece of cream card using black ink and clear embossing powder. This was then fussy cut and popped onto the card.
Using this stamp took me back to many years ago when I first worked in an office - believe it or not this is so reminiscent of the machine I used when learning to touch type when even such things as electric typewriters were but a dream, let alone the electronic devices available these days. Showing my age here I guess 🤣🤣
Background - paper from a Prima Script pad which I've had a long time (so useful)
Embossing - 3D embossing folder from Sizzix (called typewriter)
Typewriter - stamp from a magazine giveaway set
This is such a fun card with that old typewriter and fun embossed panel. I too learned to type on one of these ancient machines and wasn't changing the ribbon on them a fun task? LOL
ReplyDeleteLove this scripty typewriter card with the fab embossing.
ReplyDeleteI also learnt to touch type on a manual typewriter. There were only a couple of electric typewriters in the class at the time and nothing electronic whatsoever! Happy days!!! X
Great card Val, love the backgrounds, how things have changed eh! Congratulations on your win over at stamping sensations 😃xxx
ReplyDeleteWonderful card Val, it brings back memories of learning to type, long before electric typewriters. How technology has changed! xx
ReplyDeletePerfect backing design for a very vintage feel Val.

Limiting my commenting but had to comment on this one, as I love typewriters and love this card too. Certainly learning to touch type all those years ago is now a great bonus in the digital age on the PC.
ReplyDeleteI love the look of this typography card Val, and I have the set of freebie stamps with the typewriter, and I love the script and an embossing folder with the typewriter script as a background to the fun typewriter. I too remember these manual typewriters too, and when I was a temp once I used an electric golf ball typewriter where the ball moved across the machine and twisted and turned to put the letters on the paper which was extremely difficult to line up if you wanted to correct something, but apart from that I always used a manual. x
