I spent some time yesterday continuing my ongoing task of tidying up my crafty stash and in particular my desk which seems to accumulate lots of stray bits and pieces which don't always make it onto my current project but which I can't bear to throw out. Rather than just putting them away into my oddments boxes I thought it would be a bit of a challenge to myself to select something from the pile and to build a card around it, preferably without cutting into any new pieces of card or paper. The item in this case was a square of pink card which was the 'waste' from a frame which I'd cut to use on a recent large birthday card. I must say the result on the original card was more subtle than this which is very 'pink'!! A little trawl through my oddments boxes came up with some scraps of paper and card which toned with it and after a bit of die cutting and layering, this is the result. Details of dies used are below as usual.
It so happens that the challenge on Make My Monday this week is 'going around in circles' - include circles in the design - how fortuitous is that?? There are some great circle inspirations from their design team if you take a look.
Background - 'waste' from frame cut using Sue Wilson Noble pierced squares dies
Circles - Tattered Lace dies
Corner - Spellbinders die
Stamp - Stampin' Up
I don't normally like pink, but this is gorgeous Val. I love the paper you've used the pattern is lovely.

That's worked out very well, like the paper scraps you found too. What luck it fits a challenge too.
ReplyDeleteHi Val, I'm gradually catching up after losing internet for several days.
ReplyDeleteI have to say I don't 'do' pink BUT your card is sooo pretty! How you manage to co-ordinate bits and pieces into something that looks as if you chose sheets of paper/card specifically always amazes me. The pretty paper on here is beautiful and the combination of dies works perfectly.

It's so satisfying to make new cards from bits and this is a beautiful card in its own right. Love the pink!
