Flowers for Audrey

I was asked to make a personalised birthday card 'something with flowers' would do!! I hope they think this is suitable. Embossed frame from Craftwork Cards has been accented with fluid chalk ink, flower stamps are by Tanda and have been coloured using Twinkling H2Os. The greeting (produced on the computer) has been added to some Cuttlebug die cuts.

Acetate Trees

I thought I would try to make a card with a curved acetate panel using one of the Elusive Images tall trees stamps. I've not seen any tutorials so just did what I thought.

The panel doesn't show up too well on the scan and I found it difficult to photograph - also on the close up I see the static in the acetate has picked up specks of dust so all in all not a total success. Background is glossy card coloured with alcohol inks, the tree on acetate was stamped with Stazon and the others with Versafine. There is a 'spring' in the acetate which has a tendency to pull the panel away from the DST holding it to the background and of course a box would be needed to put this card in the post .

I do like to try lots of ideas and techniques but maybe I will give this one a miss in future unless I can perfect the technique.

Perfect Pearls

I've been playing around with Adirondack dye inks and Perfect Pearls and this is one of the cards I've made. White card was sponged with meadow dye ink and allowed to dry before stamping the swirls (Basic Grey) in the same ink and very quickly dusting with green Perfect Pearls before the ink dried. I then spritzed lightly with water which had PP added. The flower panel was stamped with the same ink and clear embossed (Laura Ashley stamp) and the flowers were also sprayed with green Perfect Pearls. This has given the card quite a sheen but not sure if shows up too well here.

Pendant

My Tim Holtz ideaology acrylic charms arrived and I just had to have a go at making a pendant. This technique is in the current Craft Stamper and I stamped the leaf image (Elusive Images) onto the acrylic and allowed it to dry. I then adhered a piece of watercolour paper which had been coloured using direct to paper with fluid chalk inks. The back of the paper was also coloured and sealed with gel medium after trimming. Jump rings and a chain were added and job done - 'simple' as a certain animal says on the commercial!!

Jewellery

I've been bead weaving again and finished off a necklace which I had on the go, then decided to make a bracelet using the same beads but a different pattern which was one I wanted to try out. Size 11 seed beads combined with 4mm fire polished beads. I've just noticed that one of the loops of beads on the bracelet has become tucked underneath in the picture - the loop is there so I've not made a mistake!!

Blue Flower

Today's card incorporates a technique shown in the current Craft Stamper magazine using Tim Holtz fragments (little acrylic fragments) to make an embellishment. The stamp used is by Anita and has been coloured using H2Os. I'm looking forward to getting some of the charm fragments to try the jewellery idea as well.
