I've been missing in action for a while, due mainly to a 'major fault' with BT landlines in this area which started in mid December and seems to have been ongoing forever 🙄. This of course caused intermittent internet connection which was irritating but at least I wasn't entirely cut off. That is until the major fault was finally rectified, at which point I lost broadband completely and had to wait almost another week for an engineer to investigate. Thankfully he appears to have solved the issue so hopefully I can get back into the swing of posting on my blog.
Today's card was made with two challenges in mind so I'm popping into the Snippets Playground and actually remembered to take a picture of some of the snippets remaining after I'd snipped into them. Everything apart from the blank card came from various snippets collections. The owls were stamped onto scraps of white, coloured with alcohol pens and fussy cut because they didn't come with matching dies. The hearts, leaves and flowers as well as the sentiment were all die cut using random dies from a selection of sets.
The mention of hearts takes me to the Allsorts challenge where **anything goes with an option of featuring hearts**
Adorable Owls - stamp set from Stampin' Up (Sale-a-Bration)
Hearts, flowers, Sentiment etc - dies from various retired Stampin' Up sets
Can totally identify with the BT issues Val, we has something similar in December, they assured us all was sorted, but the last few days suggests otherwise. And trying to speak to a human about it is almost impossible.
ReplyDeleteA really pretty card, Owls always raise a smile and these two little chaps are adorable, thanks so much for sharing with us at Allsorts challenge this week.

A fantastic card Val.

Those owls are so cute and make a really fun card! Hopefully your internet issues are all resolved, but in this world today, one has to wonder how many times we'll all go through this sort of thing!
ReplyDeleteA lovely, sweet card using so many great die cuts and topped off with the two cute owls. Thank you for joining us at the Allsorts Challenge.

Fabulous and cute owl card!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing at Allsorts;-))m
Such a sweet card Val and so nice to see you blogging. I adore those owls.
ReplyDeleteLuckily Sarn had spotted that you had internet issues - I was getting ready to send Dudley down on a fact finding mission. It was all triggered by me finding the fabulous envelope of die cuts you sent for me to play with a while ago and then I realised how quiet you'd been. Shame on me, they were buried on my desk!
Towards the end of last year we had issues with BT - a digger doing a major roundabout reconstruction sliced through cables and left loads of people offline.Even our local hospital for goodness sakes. Our internet was up again quickly but the landline took much longer to restore for a convoluted reason - but, the upshot was that we got a huge refund added to our account which covered more than the next BT bill. A lot of people aren't aware but if you know the dates and timescales I suggest you take the time to phone them once it's finally working fine again and make the case for 'loss of service compensation'. It doesn't matter if it's internet, phone or both - and it's around £8 per day depending on the service(s) lost. They are legally and contractually bound to make recompense. We were without a landline for six weeks so you can imagine it mounted up! If they try to fob you off, and you know you have a case - just gently throw in 'Referral to the Ofcom Regulator' - that's a bit like a rocket up their rear end!
This is like War and Peace! Sorry!

I just wrote War and Peace - hope your comments are moderated Val! Otherwise it disappeared! x
ReplyDeleteSuch a sweet card Val, good to see you back! Xxx
ReplyDeleteSuper cute owl card and great use of snippets. Sorry to hear about your internet issues, we rely on it so much these days.
ReplyDeleteThat birthday card is a hoot! Such sweet owls and I like the way you've done the cut-out sections.
ReplyDeleteThanks for coming to play in the Snippets Playground. It is still very chilly outside, so there is a nice mug of hot chocolate awaiting you in the Playground Treehouse once you have finished playing on the swings. After all your internet frustrations, I'll add a little tot of something to soothe your nerves! xxx
Love you card Val, the owls are so cute.
ReplyDeleteHow frustrating for you to have all the problems with your internet. xx
