Butterfly Collections seem to be taking over the crafting world at the moment and for this sympathy card I've CASE'd a card made by Stacey Marsh which I spotted recently on You Tube. Hers was smaller and was a Birthday one but I followed the basic idea using stamps and dies which I have in my stash. I'm trying really hard to resist buying any of the latest butterfly stamps and dies which are fluttering around although I must admit that some designer paper is winging its way to me shortly.
I started by heat embossing the cream texture and 'splodges' onto some grey card before blending using two shades of blue ink. This was layered onto black and I added a die cut butterfly and a sentiment stamped and heat embossed.
Brick Texture - stamp from a free set designed by Phill Martin
Splodges - stamp from French Foliage stamp set Stampin' Up (retired)
Butterfly - dies from Sizzix
Sentiment - freebie stamp on die cut label from Art Gallery dies Stampin' Up
Terrific sympathy card. I love it.
