Well it is time to visit Pixie's Snippets Playground again - the weeks certainly seem to whizz by don't they? It also happens to be time for Rudolph Days as well so my card covers two challenges this week - yay!! Miss Di has made a super card this week using a really large word stamp with paper piecing and you need to read her post carefully for several really handy tips and tricks for this technique. I have a similar stamp but with 'Birthday' on it and will certainly be following her ideas for that longer word when paper piecing - thanks Di. I expect you can guess by now what the prize might be if you are lucky enough to be picked by Mr Random.
For my card I've gone with the Christmas theme and used the usual snippets of card, mainly white starting with a piece to fit the top half of my card blank and this I coloured using Sparkle pens with a watercolour technique, sprinkled with spots of water afterwards to give some detail in the 'sky'. A snippet of pearl card was cut using a curved die for the snowy ground and on another scrap I stamped, coloured and die cut the gnome and the signpost. The penguins and tree were left over from a printing session I'd had using some digital stamps so I was able to cut them out to add to this scene. Finally a snippet of red card was used to die cut the sentiment.
Gnome and Signpost - stamps and dies given free with magazine
Tree and penguins - digital stamps from Digistamp Boutique
Sentiment - die from Tonic
Snowy Hill - die from Lawn Fawn
Sparkle Pens - Crafter's Companion
Love your card Val. Thank you for being there for me as I struggled to get back to my crafting. I do feel much better now and my mojo is slowly returning. Hugs Rita xxx
