Christmas Snippets

It seems to be a case of 'great minds think alike' in the Playground this week because Di was reminding us of how many (or few) sleeps there are to the big day!!  Yesterday I was playing around with some quilling and these two baubles evolved and as the backgrounds were punched from snippets of white card I decided to pop them on here for the challenge this week.  Only the two snippets unless you count the pieces of quilling paper in which case there are more - I'm not counting though.

I punched the bauble shapes before embossing with a snowflake embossing folder.  I then made the holly leaves, berries and little gold bells for one and added a poinsettia for the other - all made using 2mm papers.  These would be handy for gift tags or they might well be incorporated into cards in due course.

There is some nifty paper piecing from Di and a lovely selection of picks from last week's entries so well worth taking a look at the Snippets blog - a great prize on offer too as usual.

Baubles - punch from Stampin' Up
Embossing - Cuttlebug snowflake folder
Quilling Designs - 2mm papers from my stash

  1. These baubles are fabulous Val, I love the look of quilling but I'm sure that I could not sit long enough to do something so fiddly.

  3. Thank you for your visit to my blog and for leaving such a lovely comment. These little baubles are beautiful. I used to do quite a lot of quilling myself when I first started card making, in fact I found a quilling board the other day that I had totally forgotten about! It does take a lot of time and patience, so I can really appreciate the hard work that you've put into this. They are so delicate and pretty, and something a little different. Happy Crafting, Sandra x

  11. Fabulous baubles, the quilled leaves are great. You've inspired me to try out the quilling tool I've had in a drawer for a year.

    Love and hugs
