When I used an actual pen nib on a project recently it reminded me that I have a Tim Holtz stamp with them on which I've certainly not used in a very long time - not sure why really because it is a very useful stamp for those not so easy 'cards for men'. This of course makes this card suitable for Judith's Forgotten Friday challenge. I'd also been using alcohol inks and had some spare pieces left over so one of those was used rather than store it away in 'the boxes'!! I embossed a scrap of black card and added a little Treasure Gold, then tore a page from a very old book and stamped with a Brocade design (Chocolate Baroque) using Versamark and clear embossing to act as a resist. This paper was then torn and sponged with Distress ink. The words were printed using a label making machine, cut out individually and added.
This is a great card Val, that Tim Holtz stamp looks great on the alcohol ink background. I love doing that resist technique, I learnt how to do that on the Graphicus Retreat, which is a happy memory for me. The collage effect of the card is brilliant, because men like detail and texture I find, and you've included all of these things. The colours are fab as well. Thanks so much for creating a Forgotten Friday project this week, Judith xx
ReplyDeleteLove the vintage look of this card Val, you have used quite a few different techniques on this card....love the resist flower...

Those Brocade stamps are on my list & I absolutely love your nibs on the alcohol background. I'm going to have to try the resist technique on a battered dictionary - very effective indeed.

Love the techniques you have used on this card and it is wonderful for a 'man' card. Beautiful. Thanks for your visit earlier to my blog too. Anne x
