I was so lucky last week and excited to hear that I'd won a set of Glenda's latest stamps - Lace Fragments available from Chocolate Baroque. There is also a great Haberdashery set as well which tempted me as I can see great potential for these sets working so well together. For my first try with the finely detailed lace stamps I decided to go for black and make a sympathy card, often difficult to make but sadly necessary from time to time. Backing paper is from Tim Holtz Vintage Shabby collection, overstamped with some of the lace with the addition of some black ribbon. The main image was stamped and embossed onto paper from the same collection and layered with Nestabilities. A computer sentiment was all I felt was needed to complete this card.
Enjoy your Bank Holiday Monday whatever you are doing and I hope you are having better weather than here where it is raining steadily and looking very dismal and grey.
Congratulations Val... I noticed on Glendas blog you'd won. I am delighted for you and you have made a gorgeous bereavement card with the stamps.

congratulations on winning these Val -am slightly green with envy (but ordering mine today!). I love that lace flower, and it makes a gorgeous sympathy card.
ReplyDeletepouring down here now, but was nice this morning - even got the washing dry - but no hope cutting the grass
Thrilled to see you won one of these & that's a brilliant way of using patterned paper. The soft blues with the black are utterly effective & so right for this kind of card. The gently simplicity & elegance befits the occasion.

I meant to drop by and say congratulations before now but better late than never. Lovely that you won the stamps as you certainly know how to put them to good use and not leave them languishing in a drawer as seems to happen with my new stamps these days. You've made a fabulous start with this gorgeous card Val. That main image is stunning and I really need to check out that TH paper.
