Here is a card made for Judith's Forgotten Friday challenge this week - I was sorting a box of clear stamps into some semblance of order when I came across a pack of Stampology flower designs in an unopened state - how bad is that and I know I really liked them when they were purchased quite a while ago! The flower has been stamped onto a piece of white card which had been coloured by dabbing ink from Distress pads onto a craft mat but instead of spritzing with water before 'mopping up' the colour I spritzed with marshmallow Glimmer Mist which has given a pearlescent finish .Background paper is from Chocolate Baroque Essence of Nature CD printed onto pearly paper and I've added a doily (I found a neglected pack of those loitering around), flower cut using small tattered flowers die, Marianne die cut leaves and a computer greeting punched out with a Stampin'Up punch and backed with a Spellbinders fancy tag.
Wonderful matching of inks to paper & I love the fancy embellishing of the sentiment - beautifully effective with the curliness of the flower stalk & leaves & I love how that left one crosses over onto the stalk.

My Husband has a theory when I say "I've had this for ages and not used it yet", it's that if I've not used it, I did'nt need it in the first place. I don't agree, if you'd not bought this stamp you would not have been able to make this super card. You've matched the inks with the background perfectly.
ReplyDeleteHope your having a great weekend.

Love the colours you have used here Val, really pretty. Thats the trouble isn`t it, buying lots of stamps before using all the ones we already own ! thanks for all your kind comments on my blog by the way. Its actually stopped raining for the minute Lol x Lavinia
ReplyDeletelove the background Val, great idea to use the glimmer mists! Lovely stamp too, and sometimes you just have to wait for the right time to use something - well, that's my theory, and am sticking to it (no option considering the amount of unused stash I have!)
ReplyDeleteVal we are all guilty of buying things and not using them! Lovely card and gorgeous background

This is a great card, I love how you've matched the inks to the paper and how the swirl looks behind the sentiment.
