When I went to the Stampin Up Extravaganza the other week there was a wonderful display for inspiration and there were several items using a Sizzix daisy die which reminded me that I actually had a very similar die which I bought some years ago. Yes you've guessed it - it hasn't seen the light of day for well over a year and maybe even longer so I dug it out to use for Judith's Forgotten Friday challenge this week. For the background I used up the remains of the Funky Hand papers printed earlier in the week for their challenge (feeling virtuous about that) and cut out several layers of the daisies in two colours of card to make this gerbera style flower. The leaves were stamped using a leaf stamp - also a neglected item. Sentiment was produced on the computer. There is also news on Judith's blog about new stamps from Chocolate Baroque so worth popping over to check it out.
Amazing how much stash we have that we don't use isn't it - and equally how much of it we would happily buy again if the memory didn't kick in! That die does make gorgeous flowers doesn't it - have to admit to being tempted as i haven't goit a dasiy type one --yet...........
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card Val....love your colours. This die is so versatile...

Love the flower Val, I am very fond of Gerberas, and I think I have a similar die myself, also neglected! Thanks for oining in again this week. I won't be around for next Friday's post. Judith xx
ReplyDeleteWhat a great card Val. It would be a great way to use up all those scraps of floral papers we tend to get left with, and they're always too good to throw away.

Can't believe you don't remember what you've got Val!!! lol........ this card is lovely. Really like the colours and it has a good flow - if you know what I mean!
ReplyDeleteI particularly like your weighting of the design in this - those larger corners at the base & the two leaves in the bottom part of the main panel. Love the die. That spotty paper is not an easy to use but I like the way you've picked out those circular elements with your flower centre & the radial petals plus your sentiment.

Oooer! I have that die (or another very similar Sizzix one) which I think was the first big die I bought and it hasn't seen the light of day for yonks! You've used the dies on this card to great effect and everything is perfectly balanced. Another lovely card Val.
