Chalked Hydrangea

This was another attempt to make something from the clear stamp set which so disappointed me by being too 'solid'. This time I stamped using Versamark ink pad and applied shimmer chalks.  On the whole I think this is rather more successful than trying to apply ink pads selectively to clear stamps as I always find it difficult to see where I am putting which colour. Background paper and ribbon fromSstampin Up with an oddment of paper from my bits box.

Paper Flowers

This card uses some mulberry paper (remember that?) and some hand made paper flowers both of which were unearthed during one of my many tidy-ups. A simple card with just some eyelets and glitter added to the flowers and a greeting punched out with a Stampin Up punch. The leaves were punched from some scraps of green card.  I'm really trying to use up some of the craft items which I seem to have had forever.

Bah Humbug Challenge 24

The challenge this week at Bah Humbug is 'Santa' and my first thought was to get out my Joanna Sheen CDs because there are some lovely images there.  However I decided to use a stamp which I've had for many years and it came in a 'grab bag' of unmounted stamps long before UMs became almost the norm.  I think this is a cute image and has been coloured using pencils.  Background paper is from K and Co, ribbon is Papermania -  both from a couple of years back and the flowers were purchased recently from Wildorchid Crafts.

And Another One ...

This is yet another stamp from the set given away with a magazine recently - this time a cute dog. Again bits and pieces of paper and card from my stash, faux stitching was stamped using an Elusive Images stamp, tab was a punch from Stampin Up with card candy added.

Another Free Stamp

Firstly my apologies for not posting yesterday - my son has been over for a couple of days trying to tame my garden which has recently just exploded into growth (mostly long grass, brambles and weeds I'm afraid).  I just couldn't let him work so hard on his own so I've been helping as best I could because I felt guilty that I can't cope with it myself any more.  I must say this weather is glorious at the moment but really a bit too hot for working in the garden!!  I'm planning a quieter day today but there is still much to be done.

Anyway this card was made recently using another of the set of free stamps which came with a magazine (can't resist them) and has been coloured with pencils.  Background paper and matting and layering all used up scraps of paper and card from my boxes, the little 'gems' are peel off glitter dots which have been coloured with Copics to match the papers.

Another Pepper Card

This is another of the cute stamps from Pepper and Friends coloured with pencils. Background papers are from My Minds Eye and I used Nellies dies, Stampin Up punch and Quickcuts dies.

Allsorts Challenge 57 sketch

The challenge at Allsorts this week is to follow a sketch and this was a fairly quick and easy card as I resisted the urge to add more decoration and followed the sketch as shown.  Background paper is by Stampin Up, the  coloured squares came from a box of die cut shapes which I must have bought years ago and came across (almost untouched I must say) in one of my more vigorous attempts to tidy up my craft supplies. The digital stamp image is from Digital stamp boutique ; Marvin was coloured using Copic pens and the greeting was stamped underneath.
