The theme for the next fortnight at Allsorts has been chosen by Ellie, who would like to see some **Spring Flowers** or there is the usual *Anything Goes* option. Prizes are from Aall & Create.
For my DT card I've chosen to feature snowdrops which I think are one of the earliest signs of Spring. I started by cutting a panel of white card and a slightly larger one of light green. A polyplate was used to stamp a 'streak' of green as a background, adding a few stamped grasses. The snowdrops were stamped in grey onto a scrap of white card, coloured and die cut before adding to the card using thin foam pads. The sentiment was prepared on the computer and die cut with a small stitched rectangle. The snowdrop stamp and die set has been in my stash for many years and the other elements are more recently acquired.
Snowdrop - magazine freebie from Clearly Besotted 2019 (sadly no longer trading)
Green Background - Polyplate from Crafty Roo 2025 (again sadly no longer trading after 1 April))
Sentiment - prepared using Microsoft Word
Stitched Rectangle - die from retired Stampin' Up stitched rectangle set
Beautiful Snowdrops Val, the soft greens give such a nice fresh Spring feel.

ReplyDeleteThat's a lovely card full of Spring snowdrops Val. Nice and crisp in green and white. xxx
ReplyDeleteBeautiful snowdrop card Val, I like the linen card base with it.
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful CAS design with those gorgeous snowdrops. It's always a joy when they appear!
ReplyDeleteLovely snow drops on your CAS card!
ReplyDeleteStamping the snowdrops in grey has really added to their delicate look. A very effective design. BTW I didn't know about Clearly Besotted closing, but I googled them and their website seems to still be trading?
ReplyDeleteI do love snowdrops, there’s something about the dainty white blooms against the fresh green, I too enjoy their first sign of spring xxx
ReplyDeleteYou have captured the fresh greens of spring, Sarah! x
ReplyDeleteBeautifully soft and effective.

A beautiful card here that's for sure. I love snowdrops .. .. they are such a welcome sight after the dark days of winter.
Many thanks for your well wishes on our Golden Wedding. You are right .. .. lots of lovely memories. I am very lucky.
Funnily enough I quite often receive my own cards back again. LOL!!!

Hi Val - oopsie, the 'no longer trading' possibly came from me. With a stagnant blog (bulk post last October, which did surprise me after being so quiet) and Facebook Group - plus no new launches that I'd seen for ages I would say they aren't 'actively creating' perhaps. My fault, sorry, a bit of a tease by CB really. Either they are or are not .........rather than just playing around on what seems to be whims. Also, looking at the quality of the colouring in the latest samples - I doubt if it's actually Stephanie and/or her sister's work. Too bright with poor shading - not that I can talk!! Harsh but true. Also, no longer registered with Companies House - dives into trench!

Such a beautifully delicate card design! The snowdrops are so elegant and perfectly capture the fresh promise of spring, while the soft green tones and minimalistic style create a wonderfully crisp and clean look. Truly inspiring work!
