The theme for this fortnight on the Allsorts Challenge has been chosen by Lynn and she is asking for **Feminine Projects** and of course there is the *Anything Goes* option. Prizes this time will be from Stamp Addicts.
For my DT card I have a 100th birthday card to share and I thought such a milestone deserved a larger card than I normally make. This was a commission and I was told that the lady loved pretty colours and flowers. For many years she was a member of a Patchwork Group so I thought that the background paper was very appropriate and then I set about finding toning colours for the layers and the flowers. All of the white elements were cut using some pearlescent card; the flowers were cut using dies from two sources and arranged around the central numbers.
Background Paper - from a selection of 12" papers which I've had for a long time
Decorative Layers - Die set from Tonic, probably no longer available
Flowers - Dies from Creative Expressions and Spellbinders
Numbers - dies from Amazon (possibly Globeland)
A beautifully feminine card for a very special Birthday, I am sure the recipient will love it.

Hi Val
ReplyDeleteDefinitely a very special milestone birthday card .. .. you just know it is going to be kept for always. Beautiful colours and dies all put to excellent use.
I too had to make a "big card" this week. Very rare for me as it was 8" x 8" .. .. not a size I feel comfortable with .. .. .. for me the smaller the better LOL!!!
Hope you have a good weekend.
Love Jules xoxo

A beautiful card for 100 years. I love the way you used the dies to frame the age with the pattern background.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful design and gorgeous colors.
ReplyDeleteThis is gorgeous Val and perfect for this lady's 100th birthday, and the layered ornate die with the added flowers is beautiful as the main focus of the card, and a pretty dp as the background. I'm sure this will have been loved by the recipient. x
