There are two stamping challenges both with a Winter Theme so I'm popping along to We Love Stamping and Stamping Sensations with this card. There great prizes from Aall & Create for both of these.
My card is loosely based on a tutorial which I saw on YouTube from, I think, one of the Lavinia designers but I'm afraid I can't find it again to give proper credit. I really should make a note of things which I use as inspiration. I clearly need more practice with the water colouring of the background and I also 'borrowed' an idea from Jo Rice to stamp and fussy cut the two robins as they didn't really stand out sufficiently from the background in my original attempt. The important thing is that I really enjoyed making this card and will try harder another time. Practice makes perfect as they say 😉

This is really lovely Val. I love the robins against the softly coloured background. I saw the same tutorial … I think it was Lisa Taggart though I’m not sure … it inspired me too to buy the robins and I’m thinking of trying something similar with a romantic twist for my husband’s Christmas card (he loves robins!) Xx
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card Val and good idea to decoupage the Robins and I found the same in that dependent on the background they need a bit more emphasis. I've really loved playing with this new release although not inked the houses yet, not quite me!

It's a gorgeous card, we're always our own fiercest critics but I think you're being far too hard on yourself, I would be proud to create a background like this one. The stamps are beautiful too. Thank you for joining in at Stamping Sensations.

Those robins are so pretty and I love how they look in that snowy background scene you created.
ReplyDeleteI think this is beautiful Val and I think the soft background with that hint of trees is perfect, and the added branch with the holly and mistletoe and those two sweet little robins stand out really well. x
