Too Nice to Use???

How many of us I wonder have some wonderful background papers which are 'just too nice to use'?  Well I've decided that if they are that nice then maybe they should be used to bring pleasure to the person who receives the card or whatever else we make, rather than remaining hidden in our craft rooms.  Today I received the Hand Penned DSP and have bravely cut into  a sheet  to make this card, teaming it up with some toning plain card and stamped floral motifs.

Hand Penned - from Stampin' Up
Oval - embossed using 3D bark embossing folder also SU

  1. Beautiful card Val, so pretty and feminine. I'm trying to use some of my favourite papers more, instead of just stroking them. It is so hard sometimes to cut into them, but as you say, perhaps these are the papers we should use to bring some joy to the people who receive the cards. xx

  3. I will admit to having far to many boxes of wonderful papers that I just don't want to cut into, but I think it's about time that I started. This is a fantastic card Val.

  4. This is so pretty Val.
I cleared out most of my papers some time back leaving just one 12" square box with a few in.
Am proud to say that apart from succumbing and buying one pack with 12 sheets in 2 months ago, I have not bought a paper pad for 4 years!
Just off to polish my halo!! Ha ha! x

  5. Hi Val

I think we all have our favourites .. .. but if we don't use them then how can we warrant buying more? I even have some papers that I loved and squirrelled away only to find my taste has changed in the meantime and I have gone off them a bit!!

I think that is why I love my digital papers so much .. .. they will always be sitting there for me to print off!

I can see why you have been saving these papers. They are beautiful .. .. such a pretty design and colour palette.

Hope you had a lovely weekend.

    Love Jules xx

  6. Ooh well done for using them! They are lovely, the embossing folder gives a nice texture to the background too.
