Yellow Poppy

I don't think I've ever seen a yellow poppy, not that I can remember anyway but this die set came with a  CD for printing out a selection of colours and this was one of the choices.  I quite like the look of it anyway even if it isn't true to life.  The dies and CD were given away with a magazine a few years ago so I doubt they are still available.  I die cut a fancy shape in ivory pearl card, backed with some toning yellow card before layering up the flowers and leaves.  The print gives several to a page so I was able to cut into the images to use bits and pieces for decoupage.  The background paper also came from the CD and I over stamped this with a poppy image from a set of stamps which I seem to have had forever.  Because I'm unable to get out and about to look for new craft goodies (probably not a bad thing really I suppose) I've been looking through what I have stacked up in my craft room with the aim of using items which have been neglected.and sometimes even forgotten 🙂🙂

  1. Pretty yellow Poppy card Val, there's something lovely about a poppy no matter what the die cut mount and background

  2. Yellow poppies to exist. I have seen them growing in shingle beaches along the Norfolk/Suffolk coastlines. Your card is very pretty. My tutorials are up now for the double point card . You will find the link on my latest blog post. Hugs Mrs A.

  3. Such a beautiful card Val. I have all of the tattered lace magazines and I can't remember this. I'll have to go and take a look through the back issues and see if I can find it.

    1. Thanks for your lovely comments - this is from issue 32 possibly 2015. Hope you find it

  4. Good morning Val

What a beautiful card. Love your poppy and the gorgeous background die!

We have yellow (and orange and rose coloured) Californian poppies in our garden at the moment which we grew from seed this year. Quite small and short-lived but beautiful whilst they are in bloom.

Hope you have a lovely weekend.

    Love Jules xx
