I'd spotted a Christmas Card challenge earlier and as I had a die I wanted to try out, decided to make a card. This challenge was mentioned by two of my blog friends Rita and Valery but now the card is made I can't find a link to the challenge but I'm popping it on here anyway. In hindsight and now I see the card on the screen I'm not too sure these creatures actually qualify as reindeer but high-ho at least I've made another Christmas card ready for later this year so nothing lost!! At least is a change from my recent run of wedding themed cards.
I cut the die out using black card which was the right size for the card and backed it with a slightly lighter piece of snowflake print paper (left over from last year). The snowflakes and greeting were die cut from pearl card and that's it - a fairly quick and simple card.
Main die - unbranded
Snowflakes - freebie die from magazine last year
Greeting - Tonic die
Background Paper - printed from Artylicious Seasons Greetings CD
The die looks good against your snowflake background! Lovely card.
ReplyDeleteI think the challenge is the Christmas Card Club challenge - but don't know the link address - sorry.
But there is a reindeer challenge at Sparkles - http://sparklesforumchristmaschallenge.blogspot.com/
Hi Val,
ReplyDeletewhat a very lovely card and that scene die is fabulous.
Looks very much like a reindeer too me.
Viv is right the it is a Christmas card club that you join and show your Christmas makes chosen by each of the memebers in turn each forthnight on a Sunday.
But it is not a challenge like we think of just a challenge between it's members.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.
I have to agree with Jenny, they look like they would pass as reindeer to me. It's a fantastic card.

Love your card. If you would like to join out merry band I can put you in touch with our intrepid leader. Just email me. Hugs Mrs A.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fantastic die cut winter scene Val and love the added snowflakes and large sentiment using the pearl card, and a very pretty soft snowflake dp for the background which works beautifully. x
ReplyDeleteHi Val
ReplyDeleteI think we must have similar tastes .. .. this unbranded die has also popped through my letterbox and is waiting to be used!! LOL!!
I love the background you have used. It almost looks like a moon background.
Hope my card looks this good when I get to play with mine.
Love Jules xx
