I reckon one of the reasons some people have a problem with making cards for men is that there is such a lot of sport or drinking 'stuff' out there but not all gents are into sport or drinking. I've made this fairly quick male card mostly using up small bits and pieces of paper and card and a die set. I used background paper from a script pad which I've had a while; a die cut kraft card circular frame; a scrap of fairly plain paper from the same pad which I over stamped with a dictionary stamp; another piece of the same paper was cut with a banner die for the die cut sentiment and finally some tiny scraps of card for the specs, tash and bow tie.
Summer seems to have returned but thankfully it isn't as hot as it was a little while ago.
Background - Prima script paper pad
Circular frame - Sizzix die with stitch detail
Dictionary Stamp - Stampin' Up
Banners - Sue Wilson dies
Sentiment - Crafter's Companion die
Specs etc - Sizzix Dapper Gent die set
Totally agree with you Val as I am hopeless at making men's cards. I will save your idea as it's looks perfect and would be quicker to make. Thank you for your lovely comments on my blog. Hugs Rita xxxxxx

What a fab male card, I have a little craft envy over that dictionary stamp, its brilliant and fits so well with the masculine theme x
ReplyDeleteThis is a lovely card for a gent and as you say not a pint of beer or a football in sight! Not sure why some folks find masculine themed cards so difficult and you have shown here perfectly that with a little thought you can make a really fabulous card. x Anne
ReplyDeleteA perfect card for men Val, I think you could be right about the amount of sports and boozy type things for men.

A super male card Val. They are really fun dies and I like the papers very much. Lovely stamping on the background. Barbxx
ReplyDeleteHi Val. I totally agree with you about the beer drinking and football themed cards or indeed any sport. They are totally boring and totally unsuitable for a lot of male recipients. You've shared a wonderful alternative here.
