Pixie Snippets Playground

I promised you a card with lots of snippets today and here it is ready for the Playground this week - do take a look HERE to see what Di has made for us and to see some of the lovely picks from last week's entries.  As you see this is another Christmas card and the actual tree is made by cutting a 'tree shaped' triangle from green card and then layering LOTS of little die cut fir tree sprigs over it.  I added a die cut flower pot and star and then would you believe I raided a little box of 'waste' bits of all shapes rescued from punching out fancy borders, die cutting and the like (I usually save any useful looking waste), sad I know but at least some of them have now been used!!  Luckily a good rummage revealed some tiny red flowers and a few matching small shapes so that I could decorate the tree which was then layered onto a white snippet circle which had been embossed before cutting off a small section.  Some more slightly larger snippets of seasonal paper and card for the background, a banner sentiment and that's another card for the Christmas box which is filling up nicely.

Background - paper from pad free with magazine
Flower Pot - Joanna Sheen die
Greenery - die cut from small snippets of various green card using a free die
Sentiment - Stamp from Stampin' Up on die cut banner (Sue Wilson die)
Embossing Folder - Stampin' Up

  1. This is fantastic Val, a great Christmas tree and you would never suspect that it was made of scraps either.

  2. Super card Val and I just love how you made your tree out of all those tiny snippets! Definitely a case of 'waste not want not' used so beautifully.

  5. I love your snippet Christmas tree, a clever idea. It feels good to find a use for all the little saved bits and pieces too doesn't it.
