I've had a very busy week meeting friends for coffee and some crafty chat, different friends for lunch on another day, going to patchwork group and also a craft group as well as fitting in the boring stuff like food shopping and 'domestic' stuff - all of which means I've not posted a blog since last Sunday. Finally yesterday I spent a very enjoyable morning at a quilling workshop with the talented Jill of Jill's Quills where we were offered various design options including a selection of flowers or this quirky frog to make. I thought he would make a good card to cheer someone up if they were feeling a bit under the weather and as various snippets of card and ribbon were incorporated I'm putting it into the challenge for Pixie Snippets this week. I found a suitable snippet of plaid background paper; some bits and pieces of card for the die cut shapes and also ribbon snippets just to finish off with a couple of bits of Card Candi. The frog as you see was made from snippets of quilling paper and I carried him home carefully so that I could build up the card once I got back amongst my scraps.
Apologies for the quality of the picture but it is far too dull to take a photo this morning so I had to resort to the scanner which isn't ideal for a dimensional card like this.

I love your quilled frog. We don't see enough quilling now. I'm sure you had a great time. You've certainly had a very busy week. Unfortunately housework does get in the way sometimes!!!! Barbxx

The tartan background is perfect for froggy. I keep meaning to get my quilling stuff out but there seems to be so little time to fit everything it. I went to my craft group this afternoon and we did paper marbling. I now have various sheets of paper drying on my craft room floor waiting for inspiration to take over! Lol. hugs Mrs A.
ReplyDeleteWonderful use of snippets - the frog is a cracker and the card is lovely. Have a good weekend. Elizabeth xx
