Today's card for Pixie Snippets challenge uses a three step stamp set which comes free as part of Stampin' Up's 'Sale-a-Bration' promotion - a photopolymer set which makes this sort of technique easier than it was when using wood mounted stamps with a positioning gizmo. I used Pumpkin Pie ink for the stamping and some scraps of matching card for the layers along with an odd piece of paper from the scrap box. A doily was cut from a scrap of white card and the remaining coloured scraps were used for the sentiments which were stamped and punched. On my desk at the moment I have a pile of random bits and pieces, mostly left over die cut corners, flowers etc and I've almost decided to throw them out (something I find VERY difficult!!) - on the other hand they might be 'saved' and used on future Snippet cards. I don't know why I find it so hard to throw anything away because after it isn't as if I don't have oodles of scrap card to cut more as and when they are needed and then at least they would hopefully be just the right colour or design I need at the time.

Doily - X-cut die
Layers - Spellbinder dies and Tonic die
Sentiments - stamped and punched with Stampin' Up punches
A lovely card

The lotus looks lovely, fab colours. I like the doily too - think I might have that!! Know what you mean about throwing scraps away - seems a shame to throw a bit away you could punch a little flower from!!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card Val, and such lovely colours. Makes it seem more like spring rather than the dull overcast sky outside.

Really lovely Val! I have that SU stamp coming with my SU order - and am glad to hear it's much easier to use as I've struggled with previous non-clear ones - even using the Stamp-a-ma-jig :) Like Sarn - I adore the Pumpkin Pie colour too!, just checked and I already have it :)
