What is my quandary you might ask? Well I was tempted to get this Birdhouse embossing folder by Crafter's Companion which I love but the thing is that such a nice design deserves to be seen and I tried various ideas before I came up with this simple one which I'm not entirely happy about. I used a bird stamp from Stampin' Up Touch of Nature set (now discontinued) and a trellis die from Tim Holtz Frameworks range. The bird image was cut out using SU Deco Labels dies and the stamped sentiment is a punched label shape (also SU). I will have to keep the brain working on ways of using this embossing folder and maybe try to curb my tendency to 'buy now - think later'!! In fact I have to much 'stuff' that I really should avoid the 'Buy Now' buttons altogether.
I can see your quandary for it's certainly a striking embossing folder. Not sure I quite know how to sort it though, maybe a long border of birds feeding across the bottom would ground it & then just embellish (or not) the various bird houses.

It is rather lovely though. Nice new dies (ahem!!).

That certainly is a lovely embossing folder Val, and I love this card you've made with it. I like Paula's suggestion of birds along the bottom. I know just what you mean about the buy now button, I think it should have another saying 'Are you really sure?".

Yes, Val, I agree this is a difficult one. Couldn't quite see from the photo whether you used the embossed or debossed side but it would be nice to let it stand on its own. Perhaps ink the inside of the e/f and then just add a greeting, or as Paula suggested try embellishing the bird houses?
