And Now for Something Different...

A thoughtful friend spotted this knitting pattern and kindly passed it on to me because she knows how I like quirky things.  Wrist warmers seem to be all the rage at the moment and there are lots of different styles around but the fact that these had cute owls on the backs of them is what appealed here.  They are knitted in chunky yarn on four needles which I found a bit ifddly, mainly because of the small number of stitches and the large size of the needles plus the fact that there is also some cabling to do.  I do like knitting in the round but am more accustomed to knitting socks in 4 ply on fine needles (something else which I've been doing recently as well).  I've done my best to photograph them in the poor light and although the eyes do look different shades they are in fact all the same colour - just a trick of the light.  Again apologies for my lack of blogging but hopefully once the weeks get back to starting on the right day I can catch up!!

Wishing a Happy, Healthy and Prosperous New Year to anyone I have missed.

  3. These are wonderful Val, I thought " I like the idea of knitting a pair of these myself" until I saw you'de put knitted on four needles. That was enough to put me off :)

  4. Ohhh Val I love these and the owls make them especially perfect. I'm not sure I could manage 4 needles and cables one or the other maybe but not both
