Christmas Angel

Before I put my quilling things away I thought I'd make this little angel which of course had to be turned into a seasonal card.  Backing paper is from my stash, the ornate oval was cut using a Sizzix die, the white oval  embossed using Cuttlebug Swiss dots.  Marianne dies were used for the poinsettia.  This card ceretainly qualifies for Judith's Forgotten Friday challenge in one respect because I dug out a box of peel-offs to find one suitable as a chain for the bauble (Stampin' Up punch shape).  When I think back at just how I used to use peel-offs pretty well all the time and now I can't really remember when I last even looked at them and believe me I have a vast collection!!

  1. I too have a vast collection of those peel-offs which are buried in the back of a cupboard & rarely see the light of day. I love that little angel & the way she hangs so delicately on your dark blue bauble. Lovely combination of colours.

  4. This is gorgeous Val - she looks so pretty dangling on the ornament. Like you I have boxes upon boxes of peel-offs - isn't it strange to think we all used to use them all the time, whether for a border, corner or sentiment - and it really wasn't that long ago......how times change eh? We will be doing Zentangle with the girls at club soon and we're actually thinking about using peel-offs for them to tangle in!!! How about that for something different to do with them...........over to you!!! lol

  5. Your Angel is gorgeous Val, and looks lovely on the bauble. I too have a large stash of peel offs that never see the light of day. Maybe someone should set up a challenge to use peel offs LOL.

  10. Hi Val, love your little quilled angel. I always like the look of quilling, but haven't tried my hand.......as yet! I used to use peel offs a lot when I started out as well, my Mum taught me how to make cards, and that's what she used. I had a shoe box full! I have given them all away, and I honestly don't think I have any now. I am trying to work through my huge stash of flat backed gems though!
This is a lovely card, really great colours. Thanks so much for joining in my Forgotten Friday post this week, Judith xx
