Over at Make My Monday we are still on a nature theme and this week they are asking us to 'create a scene' (in the nicest possible way - I don't think we're talking 'grumpy old woman' here) LOL!!. Having made this card I've decided this is a technique I definitely need to practice a lot more but I had a go with Distress inks and some masking. The tree is from Chocolate Baroque Nature swirls stamp plate stamped with archival black and a few accents added with a white gel pen. Not a lot more to say about this really except that I felt it needed something at the bottom and now I'm not sure the greeting was the right choice but am happy with the ribbon.
Hi Val... lovely card with a fabulous bacground!

Love your inked background and what a lovely sweet 'bird tree'....love the white highlights on the birds.. the tree would be an ideal stamp for LIM....

Val...love the mountains/hills in the background. You have created a really beautiful scene! I too like the ribbon!
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about the inking masking technique - I need to practise that one. This looks super with the purples, green & I love that sky plus your grounding of the tree. The patterned paper is a super idea for I had to look very closely to see if it was a wooden frame.

ReplyDeleteHi Val ... this is pretty cool, I think you have cracked the background. I love the 'create a scene' comment lol! I am off to my crop this morning, I'm never 'grumpy' when I go there!!xx
ReplyDeleteA really gorgeous card Val and I love that tree (one for the wish list I think!)

I think this is gorgeous Val! I love the misty, early morning feel of it!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Vicky. It reminds me of setting off very early for our holidays when I was a child. That set of stamps is really lovely and I want a kick up the rear because I haven't inked mine up yet!!! Another one for Judith's Forgotten Friday if only I could find a few more hours in the day, lol!
