Beadwork Today

Today's offering is a little beaded brooch made using one of the components of a necklace pattern which appeared in a recent issue of Bead magazine.  A friend had mentioned that she'd tried this and that the instructions didn't appear to be particularly clear so I said I'd have a look and before you know it I'd launched into making this.  Neither of us fancied making the whole necklace but it was a great idea of hers to turn part of it into a brooch and she was right in that the written instructions weren't the best but luckily there were also some diagrams so between the both we managed to work it out. This quite a close up photo - the actual brooch is approx 2" across

  1. Just beautiful Val and so much work even though you say the instructions weren't clear, the colour of the beads are stunning.

  2. This looks lovely Val. It must have taken you ages to complete. There is nothing worse that getting something, then finding that the instructions aren't clear and easy to follow.

  5. The colours are just gorgeous & it looks super as a brooch. I hate instructions that are unclear as it takes me ages to work out where I'm going wrong only to find out it's not me but the instructions!!
