Allsorts Challenge # 861

Lynn has chosen the theme this time for the Allsorts Challenge and she would like to see some *Feminine Style* projects or you could choose Anything Goes.  Prizes are from Aall & Create - full details on the Allsorts blog post.

For my card this time I've chosen to use a stamp featuring a perfume bottle and flowers which were stamped onto white card and cut out with a circle die, backing it with a pink doily die.  The perfume bottle has been highlighted with Wink of Stella although this doesn't really show in the picture.  Background paper was a delicate floral one from my stash and a die cut sentiment was added.

Floral Tag

I'm sharing another tag today and this time it features flowers which I've stamped and coloured, layering the largest one for a bit of dimension.  The top layer was cut using watercolour paper and after stamping I smooshed some inks around and also used some random stamps using the same colour ink.  The words were stamped onto the remains of the watercolour paper and then fussy cut before adhering them to the tag.

Christmas

Another Christmas card made for this year's box and this time I decided to build up a little inky scene within a frame for a relatively clean and simple look.  I used the square which came from cutting the stitched frame and after  masking, the sky area was inked using Distress inks - the moon was a little mask punched from some masking paper.  With the masks still in place I stamped the distant line of trees, followed by removing the mask to add the deer and trees in the foreground.  A touch of glitter here and there and the square was popped back into the aperture.  It was interesting looking through some of my seasonal craft items, collected over many years - such a wide selection from which to choose.

Snippets Challenge # 543

Homework time in the Pixie Snippets Playground with a new challenge for the next two weeks and  there is a super Christmas-themed prize for the lucky winner which should arrive in time to make cards for the coming Christmas.  Why not have a go, sort through your snippets to see what you can make.  You have to be in it to win it 😉

For my card this time I'm using another of the blank tags which were gifted to me by a generous friend and this one wasn't so blank because it had been cut from what was most likely a snippet of card which had been stencilled and colour washed using acrylic paint.  I stamped the silhouette flower using Clair twilight ink and heat embossed because this ink takes forever to dry over paint (if it dries at all) and then added a bit of texture stamping using an ancient and almost dry archival ink pad.  I then die cut a bird in  blue to match the back layer and a feather in white which I coloured using Distress ink to tone, edging with a little silver gilding wax.  The bird is perched on a snippet of card with silver texture (more later on that).  I rummaged in my pot of useful bits and found the 'time flies' piece and added.  I then decided to add this tag onto a white card blank with a small birthday sentiment. The bird and feather were cut from snippets of card.

The silver texture on the little snippet was achieved by adhering Stix 2 micro dots onto a snippet of white card and applying some silvery gilding flakes.

Tag-along and ATC Challenge

Amongst some 'Happy Mail' received recently there were some blank die cut tags so I decided to decorate one of them and this is what I'm taking along to the Tag-along and ATCs challenge, where the theme this time is **Anything Autumn**.   My tag has been made using some of the colours of Autumn.  Both tags were cut from white card so I smooshed some colour onto the top layer and, once dry, over stamped using a large background stamp featuring keys.  The second layer was inked around the edge with rusty hinge Distress Oxide ink to tone with the colours used.  A bit more random over stamping was added to the main tag and some keys were die cut from dark brown card - these were arranged in place and the wording added using fallen leaves Versafine Clair ink.  A metal eyelet was added to the tag using the Cropodile and some raffia threaded through to complete this fun project which has kept me entertained during a chilly and dull Sunday morning.

Allsorts Challenge #860

It's the turn of Liz to set the challenge theme this time at Allsorts and she would like to see what you can make with more than one fold.  Prizes of a stamp set and also something from Stix 2 - full details on the Allsorts blog post.

I must admit this theme rather took me out of my comfort zone which is a good thing - right? After having a trawl around Pinterest and You Tube I eventually came up with this Z-fold card which is fairly straightforward.  I had some nice snowy designer papers which I trimmed to size before stamping, colouring and die cutting the penguins for a winter scene.  No sentiment added as yet but I guess it says Christmas anyway.  Time to get folding to see what ingenious folded cards you can make for our challenge theme.

Ticket to Ride

I spotted a blog post this morning which reminded me of a Challenge which I think has  been going for quite a long time and features masculine only designs - you know, those cards so many of us find difficult to make 😉.  I've decided to have a go using up some bits and pieces - why not pop over to The Male Room for some inspiration?  The theme this time is geometric and I'm hoping my little banner shapes will count.

Some time ago I used lots of my stamps and made a masterboard and fortunately there was still a piece of it left in my box of bits so I combined it, together with another scrap, to form a background for this card.  I then die cut the male figure and popped it onto a snippet of text paper;  next I stamped and fussy cut some tickets and punched out some geometric banner shapes from black card.  Played around with the arrangement until I was happy and then glued everything in place.
