Make My Monday Challenge 7

They are still on the vintage theme over at Make My Monday and this week they are looking for something torn or crumpled (shabby chic).  I have done torn and crumpled with a piece of core-dinations card torn into a rough square, crumpled and sanded - I then sponged it with Tattered Rose Distress ink and over-stamped with some text.  A French Text stamp from Stampin-Up was used on  cream card with the same DI and then cut out with a Nestabilities label, sponged while still in the die and faux stitching added with a fine pen; I then added a stamped Eiffel tower (stamp from Chocolate Baroque). I tied a bow of vintage ribbon around and a flower stamped using a stamp from Vintage Vogue set (also Stampin-Up) and the words were another stamp from the same set.  The background paper is from my stash although it is hardly recognisable because I've sponged it and overstamped with some swirls. A few matching pearls and that's it!!

A Brilliant Day

Yesterday I went along to a Stampin Up Extravaganza day presented by the lovely Jenny of Stamping Moments and it was absolutely brilliant with lots of great projects for us to complete, some yummy cakes too so what better way to spend a wet Saturday. This card is one of the projects and my friend Anne has posted pictures of some of the others including a waterfall album so do pop along and take a look.  I really NEED that cute owl punch set now (it is on order!!).  The fence and little garden gate on this card actually have little tabs and slots on them so that the card will fold flat for posting, clever idea.

Bah Humbug Challenge 28

What better to do on a grey and wet Sunday than to stay in and make a card for the Bah Humbug Christmas Challenge week 28!!  This week they are asking for shaped cards (or other items) but definitely nothing square or rectangular so I reckon this jolly Santa should fit the bill.  He was printed from a Polkadoodles Paper Boutique Christmas CD, all the layers were cut out and the white parts have been run through a Xyron machine, then glittered although that may not show up too well on the scan. Once all the pieces were cut out it was a fairly straightforward job to assemble him.  All I have to do now is clean up  the surplus glitter on my workspace before I can continue with my play day!!

Forgotten Friday 25

Friday again and time to dig out some forgotten item from my stash to make something for Judith's challenge - why don''t you have a go as well?  This week I'd been looking through folders on the computer at my digi images and I seem to have loads which have been used very rarely if at all which is a shame as I bought them because I liked them at the time.  This giraffe is from Pink Gem Designs; background papers are  from my stash; I've added a ribbon with daisies and punched out some little daisies to match. along with leaves using a Stampin Up punch.

Anniversary Card

I was asked to make a Golden Wedding Aniversary card recently and for this I printed a background paper onto gold pearlised paper from Decadent Brocade CD and stamped and gold embossed two hearts using Damask Hearts stamps - both products from Chocolate Baroque.  A piece of toning card was embossed using a heart Cuttlebug embossing folder and then sprayed with gold Glimmer Mist..  Sentiment and the number  were produced on the computer.  I've been a bit quiet on the blog this week because I've  been concentrating on playing catch-up with a mystery quilt project which I should have started in January when we had the first set of instructions and I purchased the fabric.  Thankfully I am almost there now and will take a photograph when it is completed.

Make My Monday Challenge 6

The Make My Monday challenge this week is still on the vintage theme but this week they are asking for embossing and I've included both dry and heat embossing.  Background paper is by Basic Grey - a pad which I've had a long time and it has been overstamped with small stamps from Paper Artsy and Chocolate Baroque to give it a more vintage look.  The dry embossing is done with a Tim Holtz folder; the main image from Paper Artsy was stamped with Distress ink and clear embossed;  the border was cut using a TH Sizzix die and the ticket sentiment cut with a TH Sizzix die also.  I thought I'd go for the male vintage look this week for a change instead of using lace and flowers.

Bah Humbug Week 27

The folks at Humbug Hall this week are asking for meeces looking seasonal and I remembered there was a cute mouse on Polkadoodles Magical Winter CD so how lucky was that because I'm sure I don't have any Christmas mouse stamps.  I printed the image twice so that I could cut part of the mouse out and layer it; background papers are from the CD and I've just added a few die cut poinsettias and a swirl.
