Pushing Daisies

The Tanda Teaser this week is Pushing Daisies and the brief was to use complimentary colours. I have used masking technique for the daisies, resist technique with Versamark and brayer for the background. stamps used are froma Tanda daisy set and the butterfly is a Stampin Up stamp which just happened to be on my work space! Background layer is textured watercolour paper sprayed with Sunflower Glimmer Mist. Daisies were painted with twinkling H20s.

Study in Brown

I've been playing around with inks and stamps today and here is just one of the cards I made using Adirondack dye inks and a water brush to give a light watercolour effect. Flower and sash have been layered. Background is Laura Ashley velvet effect paper - very touchy feely and the stamp is Personal Impressions.

Some Stitching Today

I have been doing some stitching this morning and while the machine was out I thought I would make a couple of small lined bags for the Shoebox Appeal. These are not too big and should fold up quite small to tuck in with the other items when the boxes are packed later this year. This is also a way of using up my fabric mountain and YES I do have a fabric mountain as well as yarn, paper and card, threads and so on ...

I Should have been Mowing the Lawns!

This morning a kind friend loaned me a book containing 201 crochet motifs and although I should have been mowing lawns I just couldn't resist trying a couple of them right away!! This is another book which will be on my wish list.
Maybe there is still time for the lawns if I don't pick up the book again

Mums the Word

The Tanda Teaser this week was to make a card for Mum - this is made using images which were given away with a magazine last year (Margaret Sherry cat) and the butterfly is a Wizard die. This had to be something fairly quick to make because with this beautiful weather the garden is calling out for attention.

A Jolly Fisherman

A card suitable for a fisherman - stamp is from a new set of clear stamps by Papermania with fisherman, golfer and workman with associated bits and pieces so quite a useful set for cards to send to the men in our lives. Background paper is from a 'for men' pad also by Papermania and I've used some cuttlebug embossing and nestabilities die cutting. I actually went to the shop for the new Daisy and Dandelion stamps but they hadn't arrived and it would have been rude to leave the shop without buying anything wouldn't it!!!

Yellow

The March challenge at Graphicus was to use yellow and/or sing as a theme. I've used stamps from various Elusive Images plates, a piece of watercolour paper sprayed with sunflower and copper Glimmer Mists and put through a Cuttlebug music embossing folder. The paper is from an Artylicious CD and a scalloped border made with a Fiskars punch finishes the card. The heart and dragonflies were stamped with Adirondack wild plum and clear embossed on white card which was then sponged with mustard Distress ink. The text was stamped with mustard Distress ink and sponged with wild plum.
