Time for a new theme on the Allsorts challenge and this one is **Things with Wings**, chosen by Lynn and of course there is the usual *Anything Goes* option. Prizes this time are from Taylored Expressions and you can see full details on the Allsorts blog post.
For my DT card I've featured a couple of owls with a bit of painless 'surgery' on the die cuts to layer them for added interest. and I also die cut the trees and the frame. The background is a piece of paper which has probably been in my box of random pieces just waiting to be used as appropriate. The sentiment was produced on the computer and printed in a toning shade of brown.
Trees - an unbranded die which I've had for quite a long time, source unknownFrame - die from Craft Addiction UK
Owls - dies from Craft Addiction UK
Sentiment - produced using MS Word and die cut using a retired Stampin' Up die

A lovely design with the owls against the trees and colourful background. Well done on the "surgery" too, so effective.
ReplyDeleteVery effective use of different dies Val, they all come together into a lovely woodland scene.

This is stunning, like those owls and that background is fabulous with them!
ReplyDeleteA really fun card Val. Love how it turned out. And I agree with the term "surgery" for applying all the layers of die cuts. I have a few of these types of die sets but the time-consuming "surgery" usually keeps me from using them. Definitely worth the time though as I always love seeing cards made with them.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful woodland scene Val, love all the dies you have used. I have currently got my eye on that CraftcAddictions frame die. Your background skybpsper is really effective too xx
ReplyDeleteBrilliant dies on this super owl card. Glad no owls were hurt in the process of making it!!!! xxx
ReplyDeleteI have the tree die too Val, and no idea where it came from!
ReplyDeleteYour owls are wonderful!
Fabulous card for the theme Val! I think the added layers on the owls look fab.Love it! xxx
ReplyDeleteClever fussy cutting of your owls, Val! I do love the soft background and trees too. x
