Addicted to Stamps Challenge Week 1

I was introduced to yet another challenge blog, mainly because two of my friends are on the design team - it is called Addicted to Stamps and as well as a weekly card challenge, they are doing a monthly scrapbook one.   If you follow the link you can see what they are all about and maybe join in.  For the first week they have asked us to 'make your mark' - using markers to colour an image being the general idea.  In my trawl through the bits boxes I came across a stray printed digi stamp of Magnum (from Ladybug Crafts) so have coloured him and his friend Lily with Copics and made a cheery get well card. Background paper is from a pad which has lost the cover (had it for ages) and I added a Memory Box diecut border, some corners punched from scraps and a little button from a pack of cat and dog themed ones which I bought some years ago.  The little faux brads in the corners are bits of the 'waste' left over from cutting the border - don't laught Anne!!!  As this card incorporates some neglected items it should also qualify for Judith's Forgotten Friday challenge so two for the price of one this week.

Make My Monday week 45

We are still on a male theme at Make My Monday and this week they specifically want to see male sports or hobbies which made me wonder just what I had which might fit the bill.  I went through quite a lot of my stamps with no succes so turned to the many files of digital stamps stored on the computer some of which I've had for ages and I'm afraid in the early days I wasn't good at recording the source.  Eventually I've ended up making two cards and I can't really decide which I prefer or if in fact if I really like either of them - mojo seems to be off on a holiday again!! The first one is from some images called George at Work (source unknown) and I've chosen this happy gardener.  Backing paper is from My Mind's Eye with some die cut Nestabilities and embossed card using a Sizzix folder.
The second one is a cute image of Magnum and Lily by Ladybug Crafts Ink coloured with Coloursoft pencils. Backing paper was printed from Polkadoodles Definitely for Men CD with the addition of some Coredinations card embossed with a Cuttlebug folder and sanded to show the kraft core. I'm beginning to wish I'd not added the raffia bow but it is well and truly stuck with glue gel and I really thought it needed something in that corner.
Yet again I seem to have managed to come up with cards suitable for Judith's Forgotten Friday challenge - the Magnum image I've had for quite a while and not actually printed before and theGgeorge images go back several years and the file hasn't been opened for absolutely ages but now I've remembered them there are several others in the set which are good for male-orientated cards so I will be using them as well.

Forgotten Friday Week 44

My offering for this week's Forgotten Friday challenge is another image of Magnum but this time it is a Christmas card.  The image was from a set of digi stamps by Ladybug Crafts which I bought quite early in time for using at Christmas last year and although this one had been stamped and coloured it was still lying around unused.  The papers are from one of my bit boxes and have been in there since the year before - I really must actually take papers and bits out of my storage boxes instead of just putting them away safely and then cutting into new pieces every time I make something!! Magnum was coloured using Polychromos pencils and the sentiment was produced on the computer.  I'm going to try making perhaps one Christmas card every few weeks for this Forgotten Friday challenge rather than take part in a weekly seasonal challenge - would you believe I still have quite a few cards left from last year's challenges.

Make My Monday challenge week 31

We are still on a NATURE theme this week at Make My Monday (and yes I do realise it is Friday already!!) I've had an eventful week.  This time they are asking for ANIMALS and after some thought I decided to use this cute image of Mangum which has been stamped and coloured using Coloursoft pencils - Ladybug Crafts stamp.  Background papers were from one of my many boxes of bits and pieces and I added a ribbon and some Card Candy backed with the smallest diecut from Spellbinders postage set.  With all of these dies I so often use the two or three largest ones but rarely the smallest so thought I'd rectify that today.

In a Flap!

No, it's not me in a flap - it's this cute cat.  He is Magnum from Ladybug Crafts ink and I bought him a while ago so thought he should be used (yet another stamp I couldn't resist).  Colouring was done with Copics and coloured pencils. Background papers are from Funky Hand and the sentiment was computer generated.
