Eclipse Technique

I was inspired to have a go at an eclipse card when reading some recent posts from Lesley who has shown some lovely versions of this technique.  I've used a piece of floral DSP and dies from two different sets to achieve this card.  There are several ways of going about this and plenty of videos on YouTube.  This is probably one of the simpler versions but effective nonetheless.  The eclipsed word was die cut once from DSP and three times from the pale yellow card then stacked together.  I doubled up on the Birthday word using white card.

Happy word - die set from Julie Hickey
Birthday word - die set by Britannia
DSP - from Stampin Up Dainty Delight (possibly retired)

  1. Wow - such pretty paper and it’s made a wonderfully feminine birthday card.

Lesley has been making some gorgeous cards with this technique - no wonder you were inspired by her. The pair of you might just inspire me to try it out too!

  9. Sorry not have come to visit for so long Val. I was convinced that I had been here since my holiday, but looking back obviously not...my report should say 'must do better' !! I love this beautiful floral paper and the eclipse 'Happy' with the added 'Birthday' works really well. x
