Stitching

The autumnal theme continues on Make My Monday blog and this week the topic is STITCHING - REAL OR FAUX.   I've employed a bit of artistic licence here and gone with the mellow creamy browns of the season and I'd say this Wellington Bear from Papermania has reached the autumn of his life!!  A touch fanciful maybe??  I went for the faux stitching with a stitch stamp from Creative Expressions - keep meaning to actually stitch onto a card but just don't get around to it somehow. Background and various layers are all Papermania papers and there is a layer of decoupage on Wellington (I try to keep cards fairly flat these days because of the postage costs.  Often people won't buy a card if they think it will incur extra postage.  There are some great Design Team cards on the MMM blog - well worth a visit.

  2. I like the placing of your corner elements & he certainly does look a tad sceptical of what he is reading the way he's peering over his specs.

Think I've got a similar CB stitch stamp too.

  3. Brilliant Val I love that stitching stamp, must look out for that one! Welling ton is great and the distressing on the edges of the layers gives great depth.

  13. Wonderful card for the challenge Val and love the Wellington bear image. I have a set of faux stitching stamps which I usually use for the effect because my freehand drawn stitching usually looks awful. Like you I keep meaning to actually do some genuine stitching on a card or two and even bought a little machine (having passed my beautiful faithful Elna on to DD) about 2 years ago ................ er, it's still in it's box unthreaded! What a waste!

    Hugs
