Allsorts Challenge #795

I was pleased to be asked along to the current Allsorts Challenge as a Guest Designer and this is the card which I made to the theme of **Delightful Animals**.  There is of course the option of **Anything Goes** and you can read all the details HERE

I decided to make an Anniversary card using Darling Donkeys stamps which were coloured and fussy cut to place onto layered hearts.  The red heart is plain and the white pearl card one has been embossed with some tiny criss-cross hearts.  A layer of grey floral DSP was placed onto the card blank.  Finall addition was a scattering of hearts and a sentiment.

Darling Donkeys - Stampin' Up (retired) coloured with alcohol pens
Embossing Folder - from Creative Expressions (A4) (probably discontinued)
Background - paper from an ancient Docraft paper pad
Sentiment - stamped using a favourite set of magazine freebie stamps

Snippets Playground Challenge #487

Time for a new challenge in the Playground and some super items in the prize pot as always so why not have a rummage through your Snippets and have a go.

I really was intending to stick by my decision not to purchase any new Christmas-themed items but as you've probably guessed by now I'm weak when faced with temptation 🀣.  This rather cute Santa just had to come and live with me so I rifled through my smaller snippets to find pieces to die cut him - I also remembered to take a pic of the remnants too.  I found a white snippet square which was slightly smaller than my base card and cut a decorative circle from that, which was backed with a snippet of blue snowflake paper.  The Santa and Ho, Ho Ho were cut from suitably coloured snippets and that's it really - a fairly simple card to make once Santa was assembled. Don't you just love his big boots and gold-rimmed specs 😊

Words - unbranded die which I've had since last year

Ink Blending

Once the ink blending was done and it had dried this was a fairly quick card to put together.  Three colours of Distress Oxides were used and I stamped and white embossed a little decoration on opposing corners, stamped the sentiment and added a die cut bird cage hanging from a branch.  Trying to keep cool today which isn't too easy but it is nice to see the sunshine so ought not to complain really.

One Stamp - Different Looks

I have two cards to share today using the same stamp but with different looks.  I was tempted by this corner floral stamp in a sale and it's certainly already seen a fair bit of ink.

For this one I stamped the image in the corner of a piece of white card and stamped again on a post-it note to cut a mask so that I could sponge on some ink and stamp a little text .  After removing the mask the flower was coloured using matching ink and a sentiment added

For the second card I sponged three colours of ink onto a piece of white card and added some texture by stamping in light grey.  Sentiment was die cut with a shadow in pink to match one of the background colours and I drew a wiggly border using a fine black pen.

Quick Card

A really quick card to share today - simply a piece of wide washi tape applied to a square of cream card, topped with a die cut flower and a sentiment, all on a kraft card base.  The flower was die cut from dark brown card and the matching sentiment produced on the computer. Not really much more to be said about this one 😊

Playground Challenge #486

Time for another Playground Challenge and some cool treats in the treehouse I hear😊.  A CAS card from me this time using a few snippets and a whole card blank.  I've been re-visiting the use of a Gelli plate with acrylic paint which is where I started some years ago but sadly I was never particularly pleased with the results until I switched to using inks instead.  However during some online chat with a crafty friend we discussed using acrylics again so I had a bit of an experimental day recently and I was slightly more pleased with what I produced.  That said, I still think that, for me, inks would be the preferred choice., but each to her own πŸ˜‰.  Anyway back to my card - I used a snippet of one of the Gelli prints along with a snippet of toning plain card and a snippet of white to die cut two flowers which I glued together to give them a bit more stability.  A stamped sentiment and that's it, job done for my Snippets card this time.  Some lovely prizes as always and I'm sure there are plenty of snippets just waiting to be used up so why not have a go??

Not many snippets but I remembered to take a picture!

Postage Stamp??

Well it's been a week since my last post and much as I feel bad complaining about the hot weather I'm afraid it's been a bit too  much for me this past week and just 'being' has been hard work πŸ™„.  I checked my files and have a few cards made at intervals and never posted so here is one to share today.  I used my postage stamp die but instead of adding individual smaller images to the apertures I've covered the whole central area with an image from a book of mixed images on card, backed the whole thing with a toning layer and added a sentiment.  I also over stamped with the two postage-related images.  Fairly quick and easy if I remember rightly.

Enjoy the weekend - thankfully it does seem somewhat cooler today
