On a Roll

I seem to be on a roll at present so at risk of being boring, here is another card in the Lavinia style. For the time being I've not added a sentiment to the front of this one but of course many people do like to write their own words inside a card.  I think my next priority should be a bit of a tidy up of my desk which may well result in a different style of card appearing the next time I post, hopefully inspired by some of the detritus littering the space 😉

Wild Flowers

I have a floral card to share today, inspired by the work of Jo Rice who is a designer with Lavinia Stamps and she regularly appears on YouTube which can be a good place to seek ideas if Mr Mojo has taken a holiday - as he does from time to time.  For this card I took a piece of watercolour card and stamped a selection of wild flowers and grasses using Versamark and white embossing powder which forms a resist.  I then sprinkled on some red and yellow Brusho powders before spritzing with water and leaving to dry naturally.  A simple stamped sentiment and that's it, another card ready to send to someone for no particular reason.  We don't always need to wait for birthdays or special occasions to show people they are in our thoughts.

Anything Goes for Stamping Sensations

There is a mood board for the August Stamping Sensations challenge but this time I've gone for the 'Anything Goes' option with a stamped scene using a Gelli plate background and a selection of Lavinia stamps.  The wisteria top left is from Card-IO and the butterfly is die cut.

Snippets Playground #460

Christmas in July has finished in the Snippets Playground but I've made another seasonal card this time as I really wanted to incorporate the little lantern (with tiny candle) which was gifted to me by a generous friend who shared some of her white snippets with me.  I thought it would sit well within a wreath design so I set about cutting all the components from my Christmassy snippets collection.

I had a white snippet which I die cut into a stitched square to fit the wreath but I have to say I had to cut into whole pieces of the design paper and the red card for the other two layers - still plenty of that left for another project of course.   The lantern was coloured using a black Wink of Stella brush pen which has given it a subtle metallic sheen and I sponged a touch of yellow ink onto the background for a 'glow' effect.  I've not decided whether to pop a sentiment on this one or just to leave it to speak for itself.

A super prize for a lucky winner as always so why not sort out some of your snippets and pop along to the Playground - where the sun always shines 😄

Bunny is Back!!

Yes, bunny is getting ready for Christmas - a bit early though.  He's been out with his wheelbarrow collecting some festive greenery to decorate the burrow and he met up with one of Santa's little helpers for a chat before he continues on his way.  The wheelbarrow die cut was sent to me by a lovely generous friend and everything else was from my stash.  At least it's another card ready for December - the collection is growing.

Wheelbarrow - die from Charlie & Paulchen
Rabbit - unbranded die
Santa's Helper - die from Gummiapan
Greenery - die from a Sizzix foliage set

EDITED - Dotty Jo commented and suggested that the little Elf would qualify this card to go along to the Christmas Kickstart challenge so I'm off link up

Christmas Kickstart Challenge #77

The theme for the current Christmas Kickstart challenge is **Just Elfing Around** and my lovely blogging friend Di (of Snippets Playground fame) is the guest designer this time around.  You can see her gorgeous Elf card HERE where she has used a super die set from Sizzix.  I've chosen a different die set and built up a Santa's Workshop scene using just some of the dies and an embossed snowfall background.  There's also a great Christmas tree in this set but there just wasn't room for it on this card 🙄.  The challenge runs for a month so plenty of time to enter with a chance of maybe winning something in the Random Raffle.

Background - Snowfall embossing folder Stampin' Up (retired)
Words - die from Britannia which I've had for some years
Elf, Deer, Parcels and Stars - from Sizzix Santa's Workshop die set

Tulips

Today I have another floral card to share and this time we have tulips.  I must say it took me a while to fathom out just how to assemble the flower heads using the strangely-shaped dies but I got there in the end.  The two larger flower heads consist of three die cuts folded and layered and the smaller one has just two layers.(double sided paper is needed for these due to the folding required.
