Another week has just flown by and it is time for the new challenge in the Pixie Snippets playground and Di has made us a pretty Easter card for inspiration this week - also of course using items which form the prize if you are lucky enough to get your name picked in the draw. For my card this week I used a fairly large snippet to die cut a background square which I inked to show up some of the detail before removing the die. This was backed with another large snippet of coloured card. The flowers were stamped onto snippets of white card and although there is a matching die set for these I don't have it so they were snipped out with scissors. The centres were die cut from snippets of coloured card to match up with the ink used for stamping the flowers and sentiment.
This card also fits the floral theme on Stamping Sensations this month so I'm popping it on there as well so two challenges covered with one card!

Layered Stamping
Layered stamping is so much easier these days using photo polymer stamps with no need to fiddle about with stamp positioning gadgets although of course I do find them useful when I can't see through the stamps and often make use of the one I have. I spotted a card similar to this on You Tube and decided to make my version but in different colours and with different stamps details of which are given below.
Floral Stamps - What I Love set by Stampin' Up
Other Stamps used - Textured edges Creative Impressions, splats from French Foliage SU
Greeting - wooden stamp with no name on die cut tag (Sue Wilson die)

Using My Prize
As well as the lovely heart stamp set used on yesterday's card I also won a Gemini die as part of the prize recently and that is what I've used on this card. The card was inspired by one spotted on my friend Jill's blog where she had used three circles for her flowers and this is my design using the same stamp set. Jill has also made two other cards using these same floral stamps so do take a look. The flowers were stamped onto white card before cutting them out using dies and adding pearls to the centres. The blue layer was cut using the border die and the top section was embossed.

Pixie Snippets Challenge 218
My lovely Pixie Snippets prize arrived during the week and I've used one of the stamps on this anniversary card along with some snippets of paper and card. The hearts were stamped onto the background then stamped again on some toning paper so that I could paper piece them. The die cut couple were cut from a snippet of white card and backed with card in the same design as the paper pieced hearts, with the largest heart then being cut from a left over snippet so that it could be raised up for dimension. Details of items used are below as usual..

Pixie Snippets Playground week 217
Well I was so lucky last week because my name was chosen by the random thingy to win the crafty prize in the Pixie Snippets Playground - a great stamp and a die to add to my crafty stash. As I was lucky to win I'm just playing for fun this week although as usual there is another great prize on offer so maybe an opportunity for you to take a look and perhaps use up some of your snippets to take part. I've again been clearing bits off my desk and come up with a sympathy card to pop into my box because sadly these are sometimes needed without warning. I found a snippet of background paper in shades of blue and luckily another fairly large snippet of plain blue card which I used to cut out the inner part of a small striplet die three times. I then found some more smaller bits to cut out the layered label for the sentiment.

More Quilling
Yesterday I promised Jill I'd pop a photo onto my blog of a quilled sheep picture I'd made since attending her workshop last month and as the day has turned out to be fairly bright it was light enough to get a reasonable picture. The design is from a book in the 'Twenty to Make' series and all the animals have been designed by Diane Boden who is well known in the quilling world. On the front cover of the book there is an amazing alpaca which I'd love to make one of these days when I've had a bit more practice at rolling the shapes.
Another Quilling Workshop
I spent a very enjoyable morning yesterday at a Spring Quilling workshop presented by the talented Jill of Jill's Quills. We were given various options including a selection of spring flowers and/or rabbits, chicks and ducklings. I started by producing two rabbits with fluffy tails which I brought home and made into a card using some embossing folders and inks to make a background. Details of items used are below as usual. Next I worked on a couple of daffodils which were popped onto a card which was supplied by Jill and I will add a greeting to this at some point. I'm very much looking forward now to the next workshop where we will be quilling butterflies.
