I seem to have been out and about a fair bit this week but finally I've managed to make a card. I've long been a fan of House Mouse - such lovable little characters so this is what I've used. Apologies for the fuzzy picture - the flowers made it too chunky to scan and the photo isn't one of my better efforts but it wasn't worth setting up a tripod for just one photo. (Just feeling lazy I guess). Of course making this has left me with more scraps of card and paper to use up so I may make something else using similar colours rather than store them away for future use. I hope you are all enjoying the lovely sunshine and blue skies - rain threatened for Tuesday I believe so make the most of it. Have a great weekend.

Ribbon and Lace
The challenge at Make My Monday this week is to use ribbon and/or lace and this is what sort of happened when I decided to have a go without any specific plan in my head. The square embossing folder was one given away with a recent magazine - couldn't resist as usual!! I stamped a simple flower from the Sweet summer set by Stampin' Up, coloured with Copic pens. The little vase is the SU Christmas bauble punch with a slice chopped off, then it was embossed. In actual fact the mauves on this card really match well for real but again the scanner seems to have changed the tones slightly which is a shame. Some cream lace was added to an X-cut punched border. I've not added a greeting at this point as it always nice to have a few cards with no particular occasion in mind.

Quick Card
A quick card to share with you today with some simple one layer decoupage (always mindful of the extra postage) - this one will be going into my box of cards and isn't destined for anyone special at the moment but I do like to keep a varied assortment handy. I printed the image twice so that I could add a layer for dimension and then matched it up with backing papers and coloured card layers. The flower was cut out also and the sentiment was produced on the computer. I'm off today to a craft group meeting so a pleasant morning beading and chatting - hopefully I will get some more of my geometric bracelet completed so that I can share it with you eventually (not a quick project!!).

Make My Monday challenge
The challenge this week on Make My Monday is to make our own embellishments rather than use ready-made items which just need sticking on. This theme sort of goes along with my efforts to use up scraps of card and papers so I've done just that and used dies, punches and embossing folders to make the various layers on this card. The image is a digital one from Sassy Cheryl and has been coloured using alcohol pens.

Embossing Powders
I was playing around yesterday with some Sheena floral stamps and Cosmic Shimmer embossing powders and ended up with this card - would you believe it the challenge this week on Sunday Stamper is to use embossing powders, how lucky is that? Mind you this is nothing like as adventurous as the work Hels produces so take a look at her wonderful blog to see what she made this week - stunning!! I started by stamping the flowers using Versamark and a blue EP onto some scraps of Tim Holtz vintage shabby paper. These were then painted over lightly with some shimmer paint, then cut out ready to arrange onto the background. These Shimmers Blingz came my way a very long time ago as a give-away prize from Craft Stamper and to my shame I don't think I'd used them until now when I spotted them lurking on a shelf!! The green layer was stamped in the same way but using a green CS powder and shadow stamping with green ink. Background layer was made by sponging Distress inks and spritzing with some glimmer Mist - a very subtle sheen which doesn't show up on the scan.. The butterfly was cut out using a give-away die (from a recent magazine) and this was also painted with the shimmer paint.

Baby
I made this baby card using a digital image from Sassy Cheryl - don't you just love the expression on his face?? Image coloured using alcohol markers and cut out with a Nellie die. Backing paper was from one of my many nameless pads and the dotty ribbon is actually a better colour match than it appears on the scan. A computer message, some card candy and a couple of dinky brads were added as finishing touches. I hope everyone has a good Bank Holiday weekend and that the weather is kind - looking OK at the moment with a bit of sunshine so fingers crossed.

Green and Yellow - take 2
I had an idea for another card suitable for the Make My Monday colour challenge when I came across this background paper on a Docrafts CD. I simply added a digital sponged effect around the outside before printing it off to the correct size for the card. The greeting was also printed from the CD and cut out with Spellbinder dies. The fence is a Spellbinder die, larger bird a Marianne die and the tiny birds were a Memory Box die. The flowers were from a pack which I think came from a Docrafts goody bag some time ago and I just added a bit of glitter to the tree withusing a quickie glue pen. The little leaves were a Memory box die also.
