I have an offering for Judith's Forgotten Friday challenge today which is a mixture of 'forgotten', 'scraps', and a 'cased' idea which I saw on a recent Penny Black challenge blog. Do take a look at Judith's blog because she has a lovely card using the latest stamp set from Chocolate Baroque - fabulous sunflowers which should cheer up what is looking like another dull, wet and windy day. Anyway back to my card - the thing I liked about the idea was the two tags with text which form part of the design so I went to the scrap box and pulled out a couple of die-cuts which I knew were lying there unused since I did a Big shot demo last year. I stamped some text onto them and sponged with distess ink, then dug my Cropodile out of hiding (can't recall when that was last used) to add eyelets, then tied together with some baker twine and a little punched tag (Stampin' Up). Background paper was a magazine freebie overstamped with swirls; the floral panel behind the circle is a Chocolate Baroque stamp, from the Fantastic Florals sheet and the first time this particular image has been used. The daisy flower is from a Crafty Individuals stamp which I've had for some years but has been neglected for too long. Both flowers were stamped onto scraps of card and the die-cut circle (Nellies Die) from a scrap of kraft card. Finally the tickets were in the scraps box too - leftovers from another project when I stamped extra ones which I didn't need at the time.

Hybrid Crafting
A bit of hybrid crafting steampunk style today combining stamping and some digital dabblings using Craft Artist.- not much more to say about this really. The fellow on the bicycle is a stamp from Chocolate Baroque Teeny Tiny set and has been stamped onto a Tim Holtz large ticket shape with a bit more overstamping.

Make My Monday week 52
The main topic this month at Make My Monday is EVENTS associated with JUNE and as the birth stone for the month is PEARL they are asking for a birthday card with pearls. I'm afraid I just had to break into a new sheet of paper for the background on this one but the rest of it all came from my scrap boxes. The flower is a stamp from Imagination Crafts and has been coloured using Coloursoft pencils, background paper is from Prima with added strips of card embossed or punched. The border strip was punched with a Martha Stewart punch and Stampin' Up punches were used for the sentiment and the piece with pearls at the top. If you follow the link you will see some great ideas from the Design Team.

Sunday Stamper Week 208
The theme set by Hels for Sunday Stamper this week is very 'jubilee' with red, white and blue to be used and as usual she has come up with a great project for inspiration. I decided I'd make a Jubilee tag for my collection and started off by printing a Union flag design (My Craft Studio) onto card from which I then cut out the tag. This was overstamped with a selection of stamps from Papermania Urban collections and the 'stamp-edged' square was one of those stamps also. Some scraps of die-cut lace were coloured to go along the bottom with a patriotic flower. The numbers for the year were cut from scraps of sponged card using X-cut dies, a Tim Holtz Type charm and some 'diamonds' on the crown and that's it. Apart from a sheet of card for printing the background everything else here was from the 'scraps boxes.

Simply Stampin' Challenge week 62
There is another colour challenge on the Simply Stampin' blog this week and these are the colours we've been asked to use
Luckily I had scraps of all these in my stash and also matching ink colours to stamp up the Funky Four designs (three of them anyway). Shapes were cut with Nestabilities and punches and Sizzix embosslits die used for the butterflies. I don't think I would have considered putting these colours together but they've certainly produced a bright and cheerful card.

Forgotten Friday challenge
When I used an actual pen nib on a project recently it reminded me that I have a Tim Holtz stamp with them on which I've certainly not used in a very long time - not sure why really because it is a very useful stamp for those not so easy 'cards for men'. This of course makes this card suitable for Judith's Forgotten Friday challenge. I'd also been using alcohol inks and had some spare pieces left over so one of those was used rather than store it away in 'the boxes'!! I embossed a scrap of black card and added a little Treasure Gold, then tore a page from a very old book and stamped with a Brocade design (Chocolate Baroque) using Versamark and clear embossing to act as a resist. This paper was then torn and sponged with Distress ink. The words were printed using a label making machine, cut out individually and added.

Still Using Scraps
Well the sunshine seems to have disappeared for the moment - probably because the holiday weekend is coming up. Today's card is made from some more of my scraps and I've realised that working in this way it takes longer to produce a card than starting with new pieces of card and paper and also requires some ingenuity and brain power but I will persevere. Backing paper here is from Stampin' Up; the Top Note shape was cut using a Sizzix die and stamped with a Wisteria stamp from Chocolate Baroque; bird bath was made from punched ovals and the bird was the Bird on Branch punch from SU. The flowers had been printed from a CD (forget which one) and I'd cut out quite a few and stored away (a good job to do sitting comfortably in front of the fire when the weather was cold); leaves were cut with a Marianne die; a scrap of cream embossed card and punched greeting complete this card.
