Butterfly 70th

I was asked to make a personalised 70th birthday card for a lady who particularly likes green so I hope this is acceptable to them. Stamped image is from Elusive Images coloured with Distress inks, background papers are from Artylicious. The butterfly was printed on acetate from My Craft Studio Wings & Things and the colour altered to match the card.  Numbers were cut with X-cut dies. I added some matching pearls as a finishing touch. The card has a matching personalised insert.

Cottages

I was tempted recently to buy some of the new cottage stamps from Elusive Images and I've used two of them with some masking techniques to build up a scene with bushes and so on.  Images were painted using distress inks and a water brush - some details were added with coloured pencils. Background paper, sentiment and the flower were all from the Essence of Nature CD by Artylicious.

Key to my dreams

This is a first card using the wonderful new Artylicious CD Essence of Nature - the papers included on this are wonderful and really deserve pride of place so I have gone for simplicity by printing out a square and simply stamping and embossing using stamps from Elusive Images Key to my dreams set (Dusty Concorde Distress Ink) which was also lightly sponged around the edges.  There are so many beautiful designs and colours that it was difficult to know quite where to start and I'm sure I will be using this CD a great deal.

Bah Humbug Challenge 29

The challenge at Bah Humbug this week is torn paper and as I am still at sixes and sevens with the ongoing decorating work I have gone for something fairly simple. I have used some very glittery and thick handmade paper as the torn element which has left a very fluffy snowy look to the edges - it was very difficult to actually tear it though!  The background paper and penguins have been lying in one of my 'bits' boxes since last Christmas so I reckon this card will also qualify for inclusion in Judith's Forgotten Friday Challenge week 3. These and the sentiment are all from Polkadoodles, the penguins were printed onto pearlescent card, cut out and popped up on Pinflair glue gel.

Missing

I've been missing for a couple of days because my decorator has returned to do the living room which has meant I had to move (and find places to store) everything moveable including enough books to stock a library and ornaments, china and glass from a large cabinet and even larger sideboard.  I have decided I will have to make several trips to charity shops to declutter a bit before I put things back when the room is finished. It amazes me how much a couple of hoarders can accumulate in fifty odd years and add to this items from parents' houses as well - all makes for a lot of possessions!!!  This has meant that apart from making a commissioned card which I can't post at the moment in case the recipient sees it, I've not done much crafting.  I do have a sunflower get well card which is nice and bright to cheer someone who is under the weather.  Stamp is by Papermania coloured with Copics and the butterfly is from a Spellbinders die. Background papers also by Papermania with some Cuttklebug embossing and a computer sentiment.  The bees are little buttons with the backs cut off.

Grandmas are...

My DIL has a milestone birthday later this week and I hope she will like this card I've made using stamps from the SWALK collection by Crafters Companion.  Background papers are also from CC and I added die cut numbers to the computer generated sentiment and some  flowers punched from the background paper.

Bah Humbug Challenge 28

The challenge at Bah Humbug this week was to use a Christmas Scene and I turned to one of my Joanna Sheen CDs which can always be relied upon to come up with great images and matching background papers.  This image is from Victorian Christmas and I used two of the matching papers, a bow of organza ribbons and a snowflake which was stamped onto vellum and embossed with tinsel EP - a small die cut glitter shape was added in the centre.
